This piece will identify some of my favorite DFS stacks of the weekend. Be sure to use our Stacking tool found within our Player Models to find the highest projected stacks, the stacks that figure to be chalky and more. Our Correlations page is also a great resource to find hidden edges in stacking positions and games.
Quarterback + Wide Receiver
- Aaron Rodgers ($6900 DraftKings, $8300 FanDuel)
- Allen Lazard ($4000 DraftKings, $5400 FanDuel)
Green Bay heads to Detroit with a chance to secure at least a first-round bye with a win over the 3-11-1 Lions.
It sounds like a perfect opportunity to stack Aaron Rodgers in DFS.
We get a gift from DraftKings with the Green Bay signal-caller priced below $7K, against a team he has dominated recently on the road.
In Rodgers’ last three road games at Detroit, his fantasy production is simply incredible.
With Lions cornerback Darius Slay likely to shadow Packers wideout Davante Adams, I prefer to pair Rodgers with a more affordable Allen Lazard. Green Bay’s second-year wideout caught his first NFL touchdown in the Packers Week 6 win over Detroit.
Lazard’s minimal price and nice matchup (Detroit’s pass defense has allowed the sixth-most fantasy points to opposing wide receivers) provides both safety and upside in a relatively unknown Week 17 for DFS.
The Packers will not know if the overall No. 1 seed in the NFC is possible until after the Seattle-San Francisco game later on Sunday, so the Packers will have every incentive to go all-out.
Running Back + DEF/Special Teams
- Sony Michel ($4900 DraftKings, $6500 FanDuel)
- Patriots D/ST ($4300 DraftKings, $5000 FanDuel)
New England hosts the Dolphins in Week 17, playing for the all-important bye week in the playoffs.
That will provide all the motivation necessary for what should be a positive game script for Patriots running back Sony Michel.
The Patriots crushed the Dolphins 43-0 in Miami back in Week 2. Both teams have evolved since that game, but it was a fantastic effort for both Michel and the New England defense.
Michel rushed for 83 yards and a touchdown, while the Patriots defense tallied seven sacks, four interceptions and two defensive touchdowns.
The Dolphins have fought admirably since starting the season with a seven-game losing streak, posting a record of 4-4 over their last eight games. However, the last time the Dolphins beat the Patriots on the road was back in 2008 when Ronnie Brown scored five touchdowns in the famous “Wildcat game.”
Miami has allowed the fifth-most fantasy points to opposing running backs and opposing defenses this season. While it is always risky playing a running back who will be limited in the passing game, Michel’s low-cost and huge projected volume is too good to pass up.
This game carries the largest point spread of Week 17, further supporting the positive game script for New England.
Quarterback + Wide Receiver + Opposing Pass Catcher
- Daniel Jones ($6400 DraftKings, $7500 FanDuel)
- Sterling Shepard ($6200 DraftKings, $6200 FanDuel)
- Dallas Goedert ($4900 DraftKings, $6400 FanDuel)
The Giants will try to keep the Eagles from celebrating the NFC East title on their home field. Their best chance is to attack this weak Philadelphia pass defense.
In the Eagles’ 23-17 Week 14 win, New York quarterback Eli Manning connected with wide receiver Darius Slayton for 154 yards and two touchdowns.
New York will now have starting quarterback Daniel Jones under center, coming off his 352-yard, five-touchdown, no interception passing performance against Washington in Week 16.
Giants WR Darius Slayton is limited with a knee issue this week, and he registered zero receptions last Sunday, so I’d recommend pivoting to wideout Sterling Shepard, who has produced consecutive top-15 overall WR performances.
With the Eagles’ strong run defense limiting Saquon Barkley to 66 rushing yards on 17 carries in their first meeting, Jones should be able to parlay passing opportunities into a solid overall QB1 performance.
Meanwhile, on the other side, Zach Ertz being ruled out looms large over the Eagles’ passing game. Expect fellow tight end Dallas Goedert to tally his largest receiving volume of the season.
Ertz dominated the Giants for nine receptions (13 targets), 91 receiving yards and two touchdowns in the first meeting, leaving Goedert with an ideal tight end target share this week.
With both New York and Philadelphia struggling in pass defense all season, this unlikely DFS stack can bring a high ceiling at a low cost in the always unpredictable Week 17.
