NFL DFS Showdown Picks Breakdown (Monday, Oct. 31): Is Isaiah Likely Legit?

NFL Week 9 concludes with a Monday Night Football matchup between the Baltimore Ravens and New Orleans Saints at 8:15 p.m. ET. The Ravens are listed as 1.5-point road favorites, while the total sits at 47.0 points.

In this article, I’ll be using various FantasyLabs tools and other industry metrics to break down the slate.

Don’t forget to check out our Lineup Builder if you like to hand build your lineups or our Lineup Optimizer for those of you that like to enter multiple lineups into tournaments.

Finally, make sure to check out all the projections available for purchase within the FantasyLabs Models. Subscribers now have the option to purchase Derek Carty’s THE BLITZ from our Marketplace. Projections from One Week Season and Establish the Run are available if you’re a subscriber to those specific sites (our optimizer is a separate add-on feature).

You can also combine them to create your own aggregate projections:

Lamar Jackson remains one of the best quarterbacks in fantasy, but his production has been slightly below-average of late. He finished with 21.82 DraftKings points in his last outing – good for a Plus/Minus of +1.93 – but he posted a negative Plus/Minus in each of his four previous games.

Jackson is going to have his work cut out for him on Monday. The team is dealing with a host of injuries to their skill-position players. Mark Andrews, Rashod Bateman, and JK Dobbins are all sidelined, while Gus Edwards is not expected to play. The Ravens aren’t exactly brimming with talent at the skill positions, so Jackson will not have much to work with in this spot. The Saints’ defense is also solid, ranking 13th in Football Outsiders pass defense DVOA and eighth in rush defense DVOA.

Of course, Jackson is more than capable of taking matters into his own hands. He’s one of the best pure runners in football, leading the league with an average of 7.4 yards per carry. He’s averaged 69.1 rushing yards per game this season, and he’s also scored two touchdowns. If the Ravens’ injuries make Jackson more aggressive as a runner, it could actually be a positive for his fantasy value.

Jackson unsurprisingly grades out well in our NFL Models. He owns the top median and ceiling projections in THE BLITZ and ranks third in projected Plus/Minus.
