OwnersBox is one of the unique DFS sites that still has traditional daily salary cap contests in addition to their Lightning Lineups contests.
In Lightning Lineups, the OwnersBox app will provide three sets of lineups for a given sport and slate, each lineup with three players. From there, users pick which lineup they think will score the most points. If you don’t like the options, you can spin for new lineups.
Spin. Pick. Win. OwnersBox innovative Lighting Lineups format is the most electric way to play daily fantasy sports.
Another reason to sign up with OwnersBox is their current Big Game Giveaway promotion. When you enter a lineup, you’ll earn “giveaway entries” for their Big Game drawing. What can you win? Two FRONT ROW tickets to Super Bowl LVIII + a VIP Fan Experience + Meet & Greets + Flights & Accommodations — over $40K in value!
Also, our OwnersBox promo code delivers new users a $500 sign-up offer. Their 100% deposit match up to $500 is by far the best among DFS sites.
Anyway, this article will focus on the more traditional salary cap DFS lineups that we’re all accustomed to. The best part about OwnersBox is their DFS product is a Superflex format with no defense.
I’ll be highlighting my favorite play at each position using our NFL projections inside our NFL Player Models.

NFL DFS Quarterback Pick
Brock Purdy ($6,600) vs. Seattle Seahawks
The 49ers have established themselves as definite Super Bowl contenders over the past few weeks since returning from their bye and getting Deebo Samuel back from injury. Brock Purdy has emerged as a solid fantasy option, and he has the highest Pts/Sal of any quarterback and any player this week, regardless of position, which is especially important with the OwnersBox Superflex format.
Purdy has the fourth-highest median projection and the second-highest ceiling projection of all quarterbacks on the slate. He represents elite value since he has the sixth-highest salary at the position.
Last week, Purdy and the Niners got a huge win in Philly over the Eagles, and the second-year QB threw for 314 yards and four touchdowns and no interceptions. He has thrown three touchdowns or more in three of his four games since the bye week and is averaging 288 passing yards per game over that span. On the season, he has 23 touchdowns compared to just six interceptions and has added two rushing scores as well while averaging 265.4 passing yards per game.
Of the 11 games on Sunday’s main slate, this game has the second-highest over/under, according to our Vegas Dashboard, where you can also see that the 49ers have the highest implied team total of the week.
This will be their second matchup against their division rivals this season after they met in Seattle on Thanksgiving night. Purdy only needed to throw for 209 yards and one score in that 31-13 win. The Seahawks rank in the top 10 in the NFL in most quarterback points allowed. Opposing quarterbacks have thrown for 10 touchdowns in their last six games against Seattle while averaging 248.7 passing yards per game.
Purdy brings a very high ceiling and strong projections at his salary, given all his touchdown passes lately. Not only does going with him in one of your roster spots give you plenty of upside, but he also leaves plenty of salary available to stock stars in other spots.

NFL DFS Running Back Pick
Zack Moss ($5,700) at Cincinnati Bengals
Based on the initial timeline given for his injury and the fact that he has not yet returned to practice, it seems like Jonathan Taylor (thumb) will miss a second straight game. If he does, Moss should be a strong option as he steps up as the team’s No. 1 running back for a second straight week.
Last week, I highlighted him here, and he was a chalky play despite a tough matchup with the Titans. While Moss got a heavy workload, he only managed 51 yards on 19 carries and didn’t get into the end zone. He played 94% of the team’s snaps, though, and had eight carries and a target in the red zone. In other words, the opportunities for success were there; he just couldn’t convert them into fantasy points.
This week, he gets a much better matchup against the Bengals, who have allowed the fifth-most yards per carry to running backs this season. Opposing running backs have scored 11 touchdowns against the Bengals in their last 11 games and averaged 110.8 rushing yards per game over the last four weeks.
Moss proved he has a high ceiling by averaging 109.25 rushing yards per game in his first four games of the season while Taylor was on IR. He should be a great value this week against the Bengals, and he has the second-highest Pts/Sal of all players in Sunday’s projections behind only Purdy.
NFL DFS Wide Receiver Pick
Jonathan Mingo ($3,700) at New Orleans Saints
While the Panthers have been a mess this season, rookie receiver Jonathan Mingo has been one of the few bright spots and should be a great way to save some serious salary this week on OwnersBox. He has the fourth-highest Pts/Sal in our projections for wide receivers and the highest of any receiver priced under $6,000.
Mingo hasn’t taken the league by storm after being drafted in the second round as part of the same rookie class as his quarterback Bryce Young, but he has been in a steadily increasing role. Since Week 9, he has had an 18.5% target share and a 26.9% first-read share. He had at least six targets in each of the last four games and led the team with a career-high 10 targets last week against the Bucs. He converted those targets into a career-high six catches for 69 yards.
He’s still looking for his first touchdown of the season, but he did have a red zone target last week, so the chances should be there as he continues to step up. The increased workload for Mingo was in the first game under interim head coach Chris Tabor, so there’s hope that the offense will continue to focus on developing young playmakers, especially Mingo, in the remaining weeks of the season.
This week’s matchup against the Saints is a solid one for Mingo and the Panthers. While opposing receivers have struggled on the season against the Saints, they have been much more productive lately after the injury to Marshon Lattimore (ankle). Last week, the Lions’ receivers had a touchdown, and in each of the six previous weeks, opposing receivers managed over 100 yards against New Orleans. If Mingo gets a high volume of targets again, he should find space to create big plays at this bargain price.
NFL DFS Tight End Pick
David Njoku ($4,100) vs. Jacksonville Jaguars
With Trey McBride on a bye week, George Kittle brings the top Pts/Sal at tight end and is a strong stack option with Purdy. However, if you’re looking to go a little cheaper, it’s definitely worth noticing that Njoku brings the second-highest Pts/Sal at the position and has continued to be a go-to option for the Browns regardless of who starts for them at quarterback.
Njoku was a disappointment last week with just two catches for 17 yards from Joe Flacco, but he still drew six targets. Whether Flacco starts again or Dorian Thompson-Robinson returns, Njoku is a good option against the Jaguars on Sunday. DTR has been able to practice on a limited basis, so there is a good possibility he will return. In his last two games as the starter, Thompson-Robinson threw a total of 24 passes to Njoku, with 13 resulting in catches for a total of 115 yards.
In the current version of the Browns’ offense, Njoku continues to be a target monster and should be set up for success against the Jaguars, who have allowed an average of 4.3 catches for 51.0 yards per game to opposing tight ends over their last six contests.
