OwnersBox is one of the unique DFS sites that still has traditional daily salary cap contests in addition to their Lightning Lineups contests.
In Lightning Lineups, the OwnersBox app will provide three sets of lineups for a given sport and slate, each lineup with three players. From there, users pick which lineup they think will score the most points. If you don’t like the options, you can spin for new lineups.
Spin. Pick. Win. OwnersBox innovative Lighting Lineups format is the most electric way to play daily fantasy sports.
Also, our OwnersBox promo code delivers new users a $500 sign-up offer. Their 100% deposit match up to $500 is by far the best among DFS sites.
Anyway, this article will focus on the more traditional salary cap DFS lineups that we’re all accustomed to. The best part about OwnersBox is their DFS product is a Superflex format with no defense.
I’ll be highlighting my favorite play at each position using our NFL projections inside our NFL Player Models.

NFL DFS Quarterback Pick
Brock Purdy ($6,600) vs. Detroit Lions
Since you need good quarterback play to reach this level of the playoffs, it isn’t surprising that there are four strong quarterbacks on the board this week for the Conference Championships. While all of them are strong options, the most projected Pts/Sal at the position come from Brock Purdy. Purdy has the second-highest ceiling and median projection at the position behind only Lamar Jackson, but he edges Jackson for the best Pts/Sal since his salary is $1,000 below Jackson’s.
Last week, Purdy threw for 252 yards and a touchdown in the 49ers’ Divisional Round win over the Packers. While his numbers weren’t his best, he stepped up and led the game-winning drive with six completions and a critical nine-yard run. At home this season, Purdy has thrown for an average of 302.3 yards per game with 15 total touchdowns.
This week, he faces a Lions defense that allowed the third-most fantasy points to opposing quarterbacks. In 19 games, opposing quarterbacks have thrown 33 touchdowns and run for one more while averaging 278 yards per game. Statistically, Purdy has by far the best matchup on the board.
The one factor that could work against Purdy is the availability of Deebo Samuel (shoulder). Samuel’s status is uncertain after he missed the second half of last week’s game. Purdy would be missing one of his key targets if he’s sidelined. He still has plenty of other options in coach Kyle Shanahan’s dynamic offense, though, so he’s still a solid play without Samuel, although his ceiling would be higher with his superstar playmaker.

NFL DFS Running Back Pick
Christian McCaffrey ($8,300) vs. Detroit Lions
The biggest fantasy star of the season has taken his show to the playoffs, and Christian McCaffrey has the highest Pts/Sal of any player on Sunday’s slate. In the Superflex format on OwnersBox, that’s especially important as you decide which players from which positions to target. While he is the most expensive player on the board, he still projects to bring the most value as well.
McCaffrey racked up 98 yards and two touchdowns on the ground, plus seven catches on 12 targets for 30 more yards against the Packers last week. He looked explosive and dynamic after getting two weeks off to heal from nagging injuries. The game he rested and the bye week seemed extremely well-timed.
In his 17 games this season, McCaffrey has 23 touchdowns, and 12 of those touchdowns came in his eight home games. He averaged 91.6 rushing yards and 34.9 receiving yards on 4.4 catches per contest. He has been consistently reliable with a high ceiling as the focus of the 49ers’ offense.
The matchup isn’t great for CMC since the Lions have been stout against the run this season. Opposing running backs have only 10 touchdowns in 19 games against Detroit, but they did give up a touchdown to Rachaad White last week vs. the Bucs.
Given his expected workload and dynamic upside, McCaffrey is still a play to consider building around despite his elevated salary and difficult matchup. There is no other option on the board that has been so consistent and also brings an almost limitless ceiling.
NFL DFS Wide Receiver Pick
Rashee Rice ($6,400) at Baltimore Ravens
While Brandon Aiyuk will be a strong value if Deebo is sidelined or limited, and Amon-Ra St. Brown is always a strong play, my top receiver play is playing in the other game. Rashee Rice has emerged as the Chiefs’ top option, and they could have to air it out against the Ravens if they play from behind. With plenty of projected volume, Rice has the second-highest Pts/Sal at the position, behind only Aiyuk.
As his rookie year went on, Rice emerged as a go-to option for Patrick Mahomes. The second-round pick from SMU had five targets or fewer in five of his first six games but nine targets or more in six of his last eight. In those eight games, he had four touchdowns and three games with at least 100 yards. Last week, he caught all four of his targets for 47 yards in Kansas City’s win in Buffalo.
The matchup will be a tough one against a strong Baltimore defense, but Rice still brings enough upside to be a good investment. He’s the fourth-most expensive receiver on the board but ranks in the top three in ceiling, median, and floor projection.

NFL DFS Tight End Pick
George Kittle ($5,600) vs. Detroit Lions
George Kittle has the highest Pts/Sal at tight end this week since his projections are very close to Travis Kelce’s, and his salary is almost $1,000 cheaper. Kelce’s ceiling is a little higher, as he reminded everyone with last week’s two-touchdown performance. However, if Deebo is out or limited, the 49ers will call on Kittle to step up again and produce.
He did just that last week, leading the team with 81 receiving yards on his four catches and hauling in Brock Purdy’s lone passing touchdown. Kittle projects to be a high-volume target once again this week, and his run-after-catch potential always gives him a high ceiling.
Facing the Lions, Kittle’s matchup is a little better than Kelce’s since the Lions allowed eight tight end touchdowns this season, including one last week to Cade Otton. The Ravens only allowed three tight end scores all year while holding opposing tight ends to 47.1 receiving yards per game. Comparatively, the Lions gave up 55.2 yards per game along with those eight scores.
Both tight ends are key contributors with good upside. However, the projected game situation and matchup point to Kittle as the better play, especially at a discount that lets you include bigger salaries on the rest of your roster.
