NFL DFS Picks: Landon’s Locks for Week 2

There are an abundance of tools at FantasyLabs to use for your NFL DFS lineups each week. Our most popular tools are our NFL Player Models, which house our NFL DFS projections from Sean Koerner.

You can use these projections in our models with our Lineup Builder to hand-build your lineups or use our Lineup Optimizer to effortlessly create up to 150 lineups for your NFL DFS tournaments.

In this article, we will go position by position, highlighting my favorite plays for both cash games and single-entry/three-max GPP contests. These plays are also viable in large field tournaments but do not focus on ownership percentages.

NFL DFS Cash Game + Single-Entry GPP Locks

NFL DFS Quarterback Picks

Derek Carr ($6,200 DraftKings, $7,300 FanDuel) Las Vegas Raiders vs. Arizona Cardinals

Carr was not great last week, throwing three interceptions, two of which were of the brutal variety. He did, however, still throw for 295 yards on just 22 completions (13.4 Y/A) and two touchdowns. Now the Raiders have their home opener against the Cardinals and fake sharp himself, Kliff Kingsbury.

The Raiders have the highest implied team total on Sunday’s main slate at 28.5 points. He has a pretty high floor in this spot despite his lack of rushing ability and is pretty cheap at just $6,200.

With Kyler Murray on the other side, Carr may be forced to open it up a bit, which could lead to the 300-yard bonus and multiple touchdowns.

Trey Lance (5,700 DraftKings, $7,500 FanDuel) San Francisco 49ers vs. Seattle Seahawks

I am throwing anything Lance, or the 49ers did out the window last week, as they played in a complete monsoon at Solider Field. This week they return home in a great spot against a Seattle defense that just lost Jamal Adams and who gave up 340 yards through the air to Russ Wilson last week.

Obviously, we cannot expect that type of passing production from Lance, but the Niners currently have a 25-point implied team total and are 9.5-point favorites.

Lance ran the ball 13 times last week, and with San Francisco losing Elijah Mitchell for two months, Lance could be in the mix for goal-line carries.

His floor is insanely high for a $5,700 quarterback and is a great play in all formats.

NFL DFS Running Back Picks

Joe Mixon ($7,200 DraftKings, $8,300 FanDuel) Cincinnati Bengals @ Dallas Cowboys

Mixon saw an outrageous workload in Week 1, receiving 27 carries and nine targets (35 opportunities), which he parlayed into 82 yards rushing and an additional seven receptions and 63 yards. In other words, he posted the same exact line that Greg Dortch did in Week 1 while also getting 27 carries.

This week he gets the Cowboys defense who just got torn up by Leonard Fournette for 127 yards on 21 carries. Dallas will start Cooper Rush this week and is currently a seven-point home dog to the Bengals.

This game could get really ugly, and we can expect Mixon to see another 20+ carries in this spot. He’s also one of the strongest bets on the slate to score a touchdown.

At just $7,200 on DK, he’s way too cheap for his role.

Darrell Henderson ($5,700 DraftKings, $6,200 FanDuel) Los Angeles Rams vs. Atlanta Falcons

Henderson dominated the running back touches for the Rams last week, out-carrying Cam Akers 18-3 while posting an additional five catches for 26 yards on his five targets. There is a legit chance that Akers is now washed after tearing his Achilles last August and it’s clear he’s fallen out of favor with Sean McVay.

A home date with the Falcons is on deck for Henderson, where the Rams are 10-point favorites and have the second-highest implied total on the slate at 28.25.

There’s always the chance Akers could mix in more this week, but even if he does, the Rams should dominate this game and Henderson will get enough work to pay off this $5,700 tag.

He’s a cash game lock.

NFL DFS Wide Receiver Picks

Davante Adams ($8,600 DraftKings, $8,800 FanDuel) Las Vegas Raiders vs. Arizona Cardinals

Adams reminded the world of who he was in Week 1, even without his good buddy Aaron Rodgers tossing him the rock. He absolutely torched the Chargers, posting 10 catches for 141 yards and a touchdown. He also saw 17 targets on just 37 Derek Carr pass attempts, good for a 46% target share.

The man is an absolute target hog and will have zero problems imposing his will at home in the dome against this fraudulent Cardinals team. You save $1,300 from Cooper Kupp despite only losing .2 points of projection.

Adams is the best wide receiver play on the week.

Jerry Jeudy ($5,600 DraftKings, $6,300 FanDuel) Denver Broncos vs. Houston Texans

Jeudy lit up the Seattle secondary in Week 1, catching four of his seven targets for 102 yards and a touchdown. The (67-yard) tuddy was of the highlight reel variety, as he made a contested catch before outrunning two Seahawks defensive backs en route to paydirt.

He now gets a Texans defense that let Michael Pittman eviscerate them from the slot in Week 1, posting a 9/121/1 line on 13 targets.

Jeudy is underpriced at just $5,600 and one of the top points-per-dollar plays on the slate.

Greg Dortch ($3,500 DraftKings, $5,500 FanDuel) Arizona Cardinals @ Las Vegas Raiders

Dortch caught seven of his nine targets last week for 63 yards in KC’s 44-21 drubbing of the Cardinals. With Rondale Moore already ruled out for Week 2, DeAndre Hopkins suspended for another five weeks and A.J. Green looking like a shell of himself, Dortch should be on the field plenty at just $3,500 in a game the Cardinals will likely be trailing.

The Raiders allowed a catch rate of 70.6% to wide receivers last week, the 10th-highest in the NFL.

He is strictly a DraftKings punt option and is way less valuable on non-PPR scoring formats (FanDuel, Yahoo).

NFL DFS Tight End Picks

Albert Okwuegbunam ($3,700 DraftKings, $5,100 FanDuel) Denver Broncos vs. Houston Texans

Things looked a bit scary for Albert O drafters in the early going of Monday night’s game against the Seahawks, as Denver worked in all three of its other tight ends: Eric Saubert, Eric Tomlinson, and Andrew Beck. However, Okwuegbunam still paced them all in catches and targets, hauling in five-of-six passes for 33 yards.

Tight end looks to be a wasteland this week if you’re not paying up for Mark Andrews, but Albert O is cheap enough and gets the Texans at home.

He’s the best points per dollar play at the position not including Andrews.

Juwan Johnson ($2,500 DraftKings, $4,500 FanDuel) New Orleans Saints vs. Tampa Bay Buccaneers

If you prefer to fully punt tight end this week, look no further than Johnson, who caught two passes for 43 yards on five targets against the Falcons in Week 1. Taysom Hill was technically the only other tight end to see a target for the Saints last week and only saw one.

Johnson is the stone minimum on DraftKings at $2,500. This is only for the faint of heart, but if he goes 5-50 through the air this week we are absolutely cooking.
