NBA Fantasy Breakdown (Sat. 5/4): Eye Harden in Game 3?

Saturday features a one-game slate at 8:30 p.m. E.T.

If you’re new to single-game formats, be sure to check out the following pieces by Matt LaMarca:

Stud

James Harden leads all players on the slate with a +16.29 Projected Plus/Minus. His projected ceiling is higher than any other player’s on the slate by more than 10 points in the UTIL slot and over 15 points in the CAP slot.

Kevin Durant is second on the slate with a +10.27 Projected Plus/Minus. KD is posting a perfect 100% Consistency Rating and absurd +18.42 Plus/Minus over his past 10 games. On top of that, he hasn’t been on the floor for less than 41 minutes in any of the last four games.

Mid-Range

Chris Paul is third on the slate in Projected Plus/Minus and is the third-highest rated player on the slate as well. CP3 is averaging a 17/5/5 line with 3.0 steals through the first two games of this series and is a solid floor option at home,

Clint Capela is fourth on the slate in Projected Plus/Minus. He finally exceeded salary-based expectation in the game since Golden State’s Hamptons 5 lineup minimizes his impact at times.

P.J. Tucker is averaging over 40 minutes in this series and a +5.49 Plus/Minus and 80% Consistency Rating over his last 10 games. Tucker’s ability to play minutes as a small-ball 5 gives him a safer floor than Capela.

Eric Gordon‘s salary is down to $5,200, which is low enough to give him nearly a 1.5-point edge over Klay Thompson is Projected Plus/Minus.

Andre Iguodala is averaging an 80% Consistency Rating over his last 10 games, Iggy has logged 32-plus minutes and scored at least 14 real points in each game of the series so far.

Value

Danuel House has been quiet over the past few games, but the other guys in his salary range have been mute. House is projected to play 12.5 minutes, the most of any player under $2,800.

Kevon Looney is the highest-rated player in the Phan Model under $5,200. He has used a minuscule sub-3% of possessions in two of the last three games but should revert to the mean — our models have him projected for a usage rate of 13.58% tonight.
