Point Guard
Stud
The ROI is not always there, but it is difficult to not roster Russell Westbrook and/or Steph Curry whenever they play. Westbrook is a top-three point guard option on DraftKings, while Curry is the top-rated player on FanDuel. The price discrepancy ($1,300) on FanDuel is why Curry is the favorable option over there. The two also have 60% or higher Bargain Ratings on FanDuel.
Value
The loss of Trae Young is a bummer for the Atlanta Hawks offense, but it continues to give Lou Williams an opportunity to shoot the ball and shoot it some more. Atlanta could also be without Clint Capela against Milwaukee, which means a lot more usage for the veteran. He is a top Leverage and Bargain play on DraftKings.
Jordan Poole is seeing increased minutes with Damion Lee (COVID) out for Golden State. Poole has attempted double digit shots in two straight games and eight of his 12 makes from the field have been from three-point range. That is great usage for under $5,000 on both sites.
Fastbreak
Malcolm Brogdon has had to carry the Indiana Pacers with injuries plaguing their frontcourt, but an underrated player this season and recently has been T.J. McConnell. He has met or exceeded projections in 12 of 16 games over the past month.
Darius Garland will be the lead guard against Washington with Collin Sexton out. Despite a nearly 20-point difference in projected fantasy points, Garland is a worthwhile pivot off Westbrook to save almost $4,000 on both sites. Garland also projects to have approximately half the ownership of Westbrook.
Shooting Guard
Stud
If Washington starts with a small lineup, Bradley Beal could be matched up against Dean Wade. Say a prayer for Wade. Beal is a top three shooting guard option on FanDuel.
Value
Delon Wright could be one of the Kings that sees extended run as 9.5-point underdogs against Golden State. Sacramento-Golden State has the highest projected game total on the slate, and even though the Kings have one of the lowest team totals (110), all teams playing are projected to score at least 109 points. He is the top point and shooting guard option on DraftKings and is priced at $4,900.
Fastbreak
Terrance Ross is the top rated shooting guard on FanDuel but is questionable to play with back spasms. The Orlando youth movement is another reason he could sit.
Get the latest on Ross and other news and injury notes with the Labs Insiders Tool.
Caris LeVert has scored 20-plus points in eight of 13 April games. He also has at least one steal or block in 12 of those games.
Raul Neto is just as volatile as Wright as a cheap play, but his run of five-straight games with 20-plus minutes is tough to ignore at his price.
Small Forward
Stud
Are we doing Buddy Hield Stud Night? Only teammate Mo Harkless has a higher Projected Plus/Minus and is tied for the most Pro Trends at the position on FanDuel.
The position is difficult to pay up at tonight.
Value
Oshae Brissett could see minutes at three position for Indiana if Domantas Sabonis and Goga Bitadze are out. Neither played Saturday and Brissett logged 38 minutes and a double-double. He already projects for mid-teens ownership, and another day without Sabonis and Bitadze could mean even more Brissett in DFS.
Fastbreak
I honestly do not know what to do with Bogdan Bogdanovic. He deserves consideration without Trae Young and potentially Clint Capela, but Milwaukee could choose to shut down John Collins and Bogdanovic and let the rest of the Hawks roster try to beat them. His price tag on a small slate is also easy to look past.
Power Forward
Stud
Giannis Antetokounmpo is in a smash spot against Atlanta. No one for the Hawks can guard him and if Capela suits up, would he be effective as anything other than a glorified parking cone with Giannis driving to the basket? Giannis remains a top-five play on FanDuel and top-10 option on DraftKings on a small slate despite his cost.
Value
The recent spike in production from T.J. McConnell could be good news for Doug McDermott if he plays in the second of Indiana’s back-to-back. Dougie’s second-best Correlation score is with the backup point guard. McDermott had his second 20-plus fantasy point performance of April last night and is $4,000 or cheaper on FanDuel and DraftKings.
Fastbreak
The return of Richaun Holmes will not prevent me from rostering Draymond Green. He continues to play 30-plus minutes per night no matter the score.
The Kings are short on athleticism in their frontcourt, and I wonder if Juan Toscano-Anderson gets to take advantage of that with Green logging minutes at center. I like him as a dart throw in a situation where he could get garbage time on top of his planned minutes.
Center
Stud
If Wendell Carter Jr. is active for Orlando, he’s auto-locked in my lineups. He has the best center matchup based on Opponent Plus/Minus with the known injuries for the Pacers. Carter is $600 cheaper on FanDuel than DraftKings, but I do not have an issue rostering him with so many cheaper plays being targeted. He is the top-rated center on FanDuel.
Value
Kevon Looney and Isaiah Hartenstein stick out on DraftKings. Looney gets enough playing time with Golden State desperate for size, and Hartenstein compliments Jarrett Allen’s skill set and has double-double upside.
Fastbreak
If Carter is out for the Magic, Mo Bamba is absolutely in play for the same reasons. Even if both play, Bamba is a top-10 option on FanDuel.
I am off Washington centers with a three-man rotation of Alex Len, Robin Lopez, and Daniel Gafford. If you decide to roster one, go Gafford since he can bang with Allen and Hartenstein in the paint.
