Point Guard
Stud
Chris Paul ($7,600) averaged 1.22 DraftKings points during the regular season. It’s possible that he comes close to matching the production of Kyrie Irving and Trae Young, since they both have tough matchups. Paul has gone over 50 DraftKings points 13 times with three games over 60. In two games against the Pelicans this season, he went for 53.25 and 40.25 DraftKings points.
Value
Payton Pritchard ($4,100) will likely only play around 20 minutes, but he can light up the scoreboard. Over the last 13 games, he’s scored in double digits in 10 of those contests. He’s gone over 20 DraftKings points in nine of those games with two over 30.
Fast Break
Jrue Holiday ($7,900) averaged 1.15 DraftKings points during the regular season. In the two most recent games against Chicago, Holiday has gone for 40.5 and 47 DraftKings points.
Shooting Guard
Stud
Jaylen Brown ($9,100) only scored 27.25 DraftKings points in the most recent game, but that was because the Celtics blew out the Grizzlies by 29 points. Prior to that game, Brown went for at least 48 DraftKings points in six straight with four over 50. His usage rate has been over 30%, and he’s averaging 19.7 shots. The Nets boosted the FPPM to shooting guards by 5.16% above the league average during the regular season.
Value
Max Strus ($4,200) replaced Duncan Robinson in the starting lineup six games ago. He’s averaged 26.9 minutes and 8.3 field-goal attempts since, with 6.5 of those from downtown. The range of outcomes is wide with Strus, as he can score in the low teens or go for over 30 DraftKings points, something he’s done 12 times this season, with two of those over 40.
Fast Break
Kevin Huerter ($4,700) has scored fewer than 20 DraftKings points in five of the last 17 games. In the other 12 contests, he’s gone over 30 nine times.
Small Forward
Stud
Kevin Durant ($10,800) is one of the most indefensible players, as he can get his shot up against anyone. He’s not just a scorer, though, as he grabs rebounds, dishes out assists, and racks up defensive stats. The Celtics were the top-rated defense in the league, but Durant went for 61 DraftKings points the last time he faced them.
Value
Trey Murphy III ($3,500) has averaged 19.5 minutes since early March. He’s shooting 43% from downtown on 4.3 attempts over that span. He went for 32 points and 49.75 DraftKings points back in March, so he can light up the scoreboard on any given night. The encouraging thing is that the coaching staff trusted him during the play-in tournament, as he received 22 and 24 minutes of run.
Fast Break
Patrick Williams ($4,700) returned to action 12 games ago. It took him six games to get back into the groove, but over the most recent six games, Williams has averaged 31.9 minutes, 15.8 points, 6.2 rebounds, and one block. He’s gone for at least 25 DraftKings points in five of those games with a high of 47.
Power Forward
Stud
Giannis Antetokounmpo ($11,000) is the player I want to pay up for. He averages a whopping 1.73 DraftKings points, and the Bulls had the NBA’s 23rd-best defense during the regular season. Against power forwards, they boosted the FPPM by 3.19% above the league average.
Value
Jae Crowder ($4,700) is averaging 5.4 three-point attempts per game. The Pelicans allow 35.5 per game, which is 13th-most, but they allow the fifth-highest conversion rate at 36.5%. Over the last eight games, Crowder has gone for at least 20 DraftKings points in all but one game with a high of 30.75.
Fast Break
Jimmy Butler ($8,400) has been all over the map this season, producing fewer than 30 DraftKings points in 10 games. That said, he has tremendous upside, going for over 60 DraftKings points four times with a high of 80.75.
Center
Stud
Jonas Valanciunas ($7,300) could have lower ownership due to his 18.75-DraftKings-points stinker on Friday. The Clippers went small in that one, which sent Valanciunas to the bench. That won’t happen Sunday, as Deandre Ayton will play most of the center minutes. In three regular-season games against the Suns, Valanciunas went over 40 DraftKings in all of them.
Value
Onyeka Okongwu ($5,100) will likely get the start and play over 30 minutes due to the Clint Capela injury. Capela missed eight games during the regular season and Okongwu started five of them, producing 35, 23, 20.25, 32.75, and 40.5 DraftKings points. Miami is tough against centers though, as they have neutralized the FPPM by 19.76% below the league average, second-best in the league.
Fast Break
Brook Lopez ($4,600) has played 12 games since returning to action. The minutes have been all over the map, but he played Chicago three games ago and received 30 minutes. He went for 46.75 DraftKings points in that one.
