Cardinals (-109) at Marlins (+101) — 7:10 PM EST
Cardinals out: Jedd Gyorko, Harrison Bader
Cardinals in: Yairo Munoz, Adolis Garcia
Jedd Gyorko and Harrison Bader will receive a day off on Wednesday against the Marlins and right-hander Trevor Richards. In their absence, Yairo Munoz will fill in at third base and Adolis Garcia will make his major league debut in center field. Jose Martinez will hit in the three-hole for the fourth consecutive game and the Cardinals are currently implied to score just 4.1 runs. Matt Carpenter easily leads the team in Consistency percentage (62%) and Upside percentage (25%) on FanDuel over the last month, and he’s unsurprisingly the highest-rated hitter on the team in the Bales Model. However, he suffers from the lowest Park Factor rating as a left-handed hitter at Marlins Park. Richards has produced middle-of-the-pack Statcast data over the last 15 days, but he’s excelled in his last two starts at home by allowing zero combined runs in 12 innings.
Cubs (-219) at Royals (+200) — 8:15 PM EST
Cubs out: Ben Zobrist (tight left hip)
Cubs in: David Bote
Ben Zobrist exited Tuesday’s game with a tight left hip, and he’s not in the starting lineup vs. the Royals and righty Heath Fillmyer on Wednesday. David Bote will enter the lineup and bat cleanup while Javier Baez relocates to second base. The Cubs currently lead all teams in the main slate with a 5.5 implied run total, an 82 Team Rating on FanDuel, and a 76 TVR on DraftKings. Every hitter in the lineup claims at least five DraftKings Pro Trends, and Bote, who pairs an avoidable 58% recent groundball rate with a massive 58% recent hard hit rate, possesses a team-high nine. Anthony Rizzo is the highest-rated Cub in the Bales Model, and he and Bote are the only hitters in the lineup with a positive recent batted-ball distance. Fillmyer does have the lowest SO/9 rate and third-highest WHIP over the past year on the slate, solidifying the Cubs as a solid stacking option among the five teams currently implied to score at least 5.0 runs.
