Milwaukee Brewers (-130) at Reds (+120) — 7:10 PM EST
Reds out: Joey Votto (right lower leg contusion)
Joey Votto will miss the Reds’ matchup against the Brewers due to a bruise on his lower right leg. The Reds will roll with Billy Hamilton, Jose Peraza, and Scooter Gennett at the top of the order and are presently implied to score a respectable 4.5 runs. The Reds are particularly in play on FanDuel, where their Team Value Rating is tied for the eighth-highest mark in Tuesday’s main slate and each of the top-seven batters boast Bargain Ratings of at least 90 percent. Hamilton in particular is set up well against righty Junior Guerra, as he’s posted a positive wOBA split vs. right-handed pitchers over the past 12 months. Hamilton is one of just six outfielders in Tuesday’s main slate with a Projected Plus/Minus above +1.0 on FanDuel. Still, Guerra has pitched well recently, allowing two or fewer runs in three of his last four starts. He’ll look to continue to limit big hits, as Guerra ranks among the main slate’s top-three pitchers in average fly-ball and hard-hit rate allowed over the past 15 days.
New York Mets (+109) at Chicago Cubs (-118) — 8:05 PM EST
Mets in: Brandon Nimmo (left index finger bone bruise), Kevin Plawecki (paternity), Jeff McNeil (tight right quad)
Mets out: Devin Mesoraco (sprained neck), Jose Bautista (traded)
Each of Brandon Nimmo, Kevin Plawecki, and Jeff McNeil will suit up Tuesday night. Devin Mesoraco will sit out with a sprained neck, and Jose Bautista was traded to the Phillies. The Mets are presently implied to score a solid 4.3 runs. Both offenses could benefit from estimated wind gusts of 16 miles per hour blowing out to left field, although both pitchers have been at the top of their respective games recently. Cubs lefty Cole Hamels has allowed one or less run in five consecutive starts since joining the Cubs. Hamels has also offered strikeout upside during this stretch, racking up at least seven strikeouts in three of his five starts with the Cubs. He’s set up well against a Mets lineup that has combined to post a mediocre .302 wOBA vs. southpaws over the past 12 months. Exposure to Hamels should be focused on FanDuel, where his $9,400 price tag comes with a 70 percent Bargain Rating and a low 2-4 percent Projected Ownership Rate.
