Red Sox (+109) at Rays (-118) — 1:10 PM EST
Red Sox in: Steve Pearce, Brock Holt
Red Sox out: Andrew Benintendi, J.D. Martinez
The Red Sox will roll with Mookie Betts, Eduardo Nunez, and Xander Bogaerts at the top of the order for their matchup against the Rays. They’re presently implied to score a mediocre 3.4 runs, although the Red Sox have combined to post a slate-best .325 wOBA vs. southpaws over the past 12 months. Overall, each of Betts, Steve Pearce, and Sandy Leon have posted positive wOBA and ISO splits vs. left-handed pitchers over the past calendar year. They’ll face off against lefty Blake Snell, who has allowed one or less runs in four consecutive starts. Snell has pitched well all season, averaging a +8.2 Plus/Minus on FanDuel with a 63 percent Consistency Rating. He remains in play on FanDuel, where his $9,600 price tag comes with an 87 percent Bargain Rating and seven Pro Trends. Snell carries a slate-high 7.4 K Prediction and is one of three pitchers that have averaged a double-digit K/9 rate over the past 12 months.
Nationals (+103) at Mets (-111) — 1:10 PM EST
Nationals in: Michael Taylor
Nationals out: Bryce Harper
Bryce Harper will receive a day off amidst his 0-for-13 slump. The Nationals will instead bat Anthony Rendon and Ryan Zimmerman at the No. 3 and No. 4 spots, respectively. They’re presently implied to score a respectable 4.5 runs, and both offenses could benefit from estimated wind gusts of nine miles per hour blowing out to center field. The Nationals are especially in play on FanDuel, where six of their eight starters boast Bargain Ratings of at least 70 percent. Zimmerman in particular is set up well against lefty Steven Matz, as he’s averaged a .490 wOBA and a .314 ISO vs. southpaws over the past 12 months. Zimmerman’s $3,400 price tag on FanDuel comes with a 93 percent Bargain Rating and five Pro Trends. Matz will look to do a better job limiting big hits, as he’s one of just five pitchers in Sunday’s main slate that have allowed an average batted ball distance of at least 220 feet with a fly-ball rate above 40 percent over the past 15 days. He’ll have his hands full with a Nationals lineup that has combined to post a strong .316 wOBA vs. left-handed pitchers over the past calendar year.
