Bargain Rating Picks

You might be asking: what is Bargain Rating, and why should I care?

Bargain Rating shows how much of a bargain a player is on one DFS site versus others. If a player is significantly cheaper on one site than the other, they will have a favorable Bargain Rating on the site where they’re more affordable and a poor Bargain Rating on the site where they’re more expensive. It’s a straightforward metric, but targeting players at reduced price tags is almost always a strong strategy in DFS.

Bargain Rating strongly correlates with player value, which you can quickly see with our predictive projected Plus/Minus metric.

Seeing how Plus/Minus helps you project how many points a player is expected to score compared to what their salary implies them to score, this is a good company for Bargain Rating.

MLB DFS DraftKings Bargain

Jackie Bradley Jr. ($2,000): Outfielder, Boston Red Sox

For a $2,000 dart throw, Bradley Jr. is an interesting option tonight in Houston against righty Luis Garcia and the Astros.

Let’s be clear, Bradley Jr. is not having a banner year. With a .210 batting average and just three home runs, his upside is certainly capped.

He does produce better against right-handed pitching with a .117 ISO and .257 wOBA. Bradley Jr. also has a +3.00 Plus/Minus over his last 10 games, including three 16+ DraftKings point performances. If you get another one of those tonight, he will be well worth the price in lineups.

MLB DFS FanDuel Bargain

Yoan Moncada ($2,400): Third Baseman, Chicago White Sox

Moncada did not score a fantasy point in the White Sox’s last three-game series against the Athletics, but before that, he posted 10 double-digit FanDuel scoring games in his previous 12 outings.

The White Sox face right-hander Brad Keller of the Royals tonight, who is 5-11 with a 4.18 ERA in 19 starts.

A solid bargain option at third base, Moncada looks to rebound at the plate tonight and take advantage of the plus matchup.

MLB DFS Ceiling Projection Picks

Pitcher

Jon Gray ($9,700 DraftKings, $10,000 FanDuel) vs. Baltimore Orioles

Gray is having a bounce-back season in his first year with the Rangers. The 30-year-old right-hander is seeing the benefits of not pitching home games in Coors Field with a 7-5 record and 3.62 ERA, the lowest season mark in his career.

Over the last month, Gray has a +10.22 Plus/Minus and has had a positive Plus/Minus rating in each of his previous nine starts. Though his salary has continued to rise in that span, he has a plus matchup tonight against the Orioles, who are near the bottom of the league in batting.

Gray has regularly landed near 30 DraftKings points in his recent good outings. Look for another one tonight in Texas.

Hitter

Jose Ramirez ($5,800 DraftKings, $4,300 FanDuel) vs. Arizona Diamondbacks

The four-time All-Star is having another great season at the plate with a .288 average and 21 home runs. He has a keen eye at the plate with a minuscule 9.7 strikeout %.

Ramirez leads the American League with 34 doubles and has impressed with a +1.64 Plus/Minus on the season, despite his high price tag throughout.

The Guardians face Diamondbacks right-hander Zach Davies on Monday, who owns a 3.94 ERA and 2-4 record in 15 starts. Ramirez excels against righties with a .396 wOBA and .279 ISO.

Ramirez has seven 30+ DraftKings point performances on the season. Tonight could be number eight.

Top Stacking Pick from THE BAT X

One of the great features of being a FantasyLabs Pro member is the option to purchase additional items in the FantasyLabs Marketplace.

A new addition to our MLB projections is THE BAT from Derek Carty of RotoGrinders. With this purchase, you can use his projections alone or create aggregate projections within our Player Models.

The top five-man DraftKings stack from THE BAT using projected points in our stacking tool belongs to the Yankees. When you load them into our Lineup Builder, you’ll have the option to hand-build the rest of your team or optimize the rest of it.

Note: There is precipitation projected in the forecast for this game. Be sure to monitor the status of this game leading up to lock.

The Yankees host the Mariners at the start of a weekday series after putting up 25 runs in their last three games against the Royals. Left-hander Marco Gonzalez takes the mound for Seattle with a 6-10 record and 3.66 ERA.

Aaron Judge leads the league with 42 home runs, 91 RBI, and 87 runs scored, and he’s locked in at the dish right now. He has a massive +11.52 Plus/Minus over his last 10 games with nine 19+ DraftKings point games in his previous 12. Judge is worth paying up for with this current hot streak.

DJ LeMahieu is having another solid season in pinstripes, and he’s looking for his third straight game with a homer. The 34-year-old lifts his fantasy floor with a low strikeout rate and high walk rate at the plate. He leads the American League with 55 walks on the season.

Gleyber Torres is near the top of the salary list for second basemen on the slate. He has been more effective against lefties with a .396 wOBA and .304 ISO, making Gonzalez an ideal matchup for him. Torres had his best hitting month of the season in July with a .292 batting average.

With two straight 20+ DraftKings point performances, Anthony Rizzo is a hit-or-miss proposition in fantasy lineups. His .228 batting average is slightly deceiving as he remains in the top-8% of the league with a .364 xwOBA.

Aaron Hicks finishes off the stack as a cheaper outfield option tonight. He has struggled with a -2.28 Plus/Minus over his last 10 games but should get plenty of opportunities tonight to produce runs in this lineup.

Look for the Yankees to continue their power show tonight in the Bronx.
