Bargain Rating Picks
You might be asking: what is Bargain Rating, and why should I care?
Bargain Rating shows how much of a bargain a player is on one DFS site versus others. If a player is significantly cheaper on one site than the other, they will have a favorable Bargain Rating on the site where they’re more affordable and a poor Bargain Rating on the site where they’re more expensive. It’s a straightforward metric, but targeting players at reduced price tags is almost always a strong strategy in DFS.
Bargain Rating strongly correlates with player value, which you can quickly see with our predictive projected Plus/Minus metric.
Seeing how Plus/Minus helps you project how many points a player is expected to score compared to what their salary implies them to score, this is a good company for Bargain Rating.
MLB DFS DraftKings Bargain Value
Jamie Westbrook ($2,100): Second Baseman, Boston Red Sox
At 28 years old, Jamie Westbrook made his major league debut this season after more than a decade in the minor leagues. He’s hit 125 home runs in 1159 career minor league games for a variety of farm systems.
He’s earned 18 plate appearances this season for the Red Sox and hit his first big-league dinger on June 6. Westbrook is batting .154/.294/.385 with a .321 xwOBA.
Westbrook is a lottery ticket option on the main slate with an expected low ownership and a high projected Plus/Minus. He faces Phillies left-hander Christopher Sanchez with a 3-3 record and 2.71 ERA.

MLB DFS Ceiling Projection Picks
Pitcher
Sonny Gray ($10,000) vs. Pittsburgh Pirates
Sonny Gray is off to one of his better starts to a season in his 12-year major league career. Through 11 starts, Gray is 7-4 with a 3.21 ERA and 1.07 WHIP.
Gray posted 20+ DraftKings point games in each of his first five starts in 2024, but has cooled off a bit with just one over his last five starts. He is 0-2 in two June starts with a 6.52 ERA in 9.2 innings.
Using PlateIQ, the projected Pirates lineup has a .122 ISO and .292 wOBA against right-handed pitching this season. Gray has elevated his strikeout potential this season with a 32.8 K% and 26.6% whiff rate. The model likes Gray to get back on track tonight with a big performance.
Hitter
Jose Ramirez ($6,400) at Cincinnati Reds
The model expects the battle of Ohio to produce some fireworks for Jose Ramirez and the Guardians. The third baseman has tallied five double-digit DraftKings results in his last eight games with a pair of home runs.
Ramirez is batting .271/.333/.545 on the season and sits fourth in the American League with 18 home runs and fifth with 139 total bases. He continues to see the ball well at the plate with an impressive 11 K% and has turned that strength into a .372 wOBA.
Nick Lodolo takes the mound for Cincinnati at home today. The lefty is off to a great start at 6-2 with a 2.92 ERA. Ramirez excels against left-handed pitching with a .316/.375/.582 batting line this season.

MLB DFS Pitcher
Bryce Miller ($9,000) vs. Chicago White Sox
Right-hander Bryce Miller will try to keep the ball inside the park tonight against the White Sox. Through 13 starts, he has allowed 12 home runs and 36 doubles, both in the bottom 10 of American League pitchers.
When he can keep the ball in the yard, Miller has been strong with a 5-5 record, 3.81 ERA, and 1.02 WHIP. He allows a .245 wOBA and .469 xSLG with a 24.1 K%.
The White Sox are near the basement in home runs this season and are dead last in batting with a .219 team average. Miller will try to flip the script on his last start where he gave up seven earned runs. The model likes him to take advantage of a plus matchup against Chicago.

MLB DFS Hitters
Corbin Carroll ($4,500) vs. Los Angeles Angels
The home runs and fantasy points have been hard to come by for Corbin Carroll this season, but he seems to be turning things on in June for the Diamondbacks. He is batting .306/.405/.417 this month with a pair of doubles and a triple.
This season, he is batting a disappointing .213/.300/.309 overall with just two home runs and 21 RBI. He does have 11 stolen bases to add a bit of fantasy value.
He has a +2.18 average Plus/Minus over his last 10 games as his salary has dipped from early season expectations. He looks to stay on track against Jose Soriano and the Angels tonight. Soriano is 3-5 with a 3.64 ERA and 1.21 WHIP.
Masyn Winn ($3,800) vs. Pittsburgh Pirates
The Cardinals have one of the highest implied run totals on the main slate against the Pirates and Masyn Winn has shown some pop for fantasy potential.
Winn has a +2.17 average Plus/Minus over his last 10 games including a 29-point game on June 4 in Houston. The shortstop is batting an impressive .305/.353/.431 on the season with three home runs and 23 RBI.
His ceiling may be a bit capped without major home run potential, but Winn is a model favorite today against Pirates lefty Bailey Falter. Falter is 3-3 with a 3.69 ERA and 1.04 WHIP this season.
