This is a breakdown of one-game DFS contests for the Week 14 Monday Night Football matchup featuring the New York Giants at Philadelphia Eagles at 8:15 p.m. ET on ESPN. Be sure to check our Models up until kickoff for up-to-date projections that reflect the latest breaking news.

Cash Game Strategy

There are two keys to unlocking the optimal DraftKings lineup for this slate:

  1. Miles Sanders in the Captain spot. With Jordan Howard (shoulder) set to miss his fourth straight game, Sanders should continue in a role that has seen him log at least 85% of the snaps in each of the past three games while averaging 18.0 opportunities (carries plus targets per game). Sanders’ Projected Plus/Minus bests that of both Carson Wentz and Saquon Barkley.
  2. Kaden Smith. By the same token, Smith has played more than 90% of the snaps in each of the past two weeks in the absence of Evan Engram (knee) and Rhett Ellison (concussion), hauling in at least five grabs in each contest. Smith is No. 1 among all players on the slate in terms of Projected Plus/Minus.

With Sanders in the Captain spot and Smith as the cheapest FLEX, you can also fit Wentz, Barkley, Eli Manning (filling in for an injured Daniel Jones), and Jake Elliott, who clocks in with the second-best Projected Plus/Minus on the slate. Provided the weather holds up (wind and rain is in the forecast), this is a smash spot for Wentz: The Giants are ranked 30th in schedule-adjusted pass-defense efficiency, per Football Outsiders’ DVOA, and they have allowed at least 20.92 DraftKings points to 10 of the 12 starting QBs they’ve faced.

On FanDuel, all four of Wentz, Barkley, Sanders and Manning only fit with a minimum-priced player in the fifth slot, but unfortunately, there are no viable options in that range. Wentz and Barkley have the top two median projections, so it comes down to fading one of Sanders or Manning. Both are projected within a point of each other with a slight edge to Manning, so the best bet to to split exposure between both with Elliott and Smith in the final two slots. If forced to choose one or the other, I think you have to trust the numbers and roll with Eli due to the superior floor that comes inherent to his position relative to all others in FanDuel’s scoring format.
