Fantasy Football QB Report: Stream Joe Flacco, Plus Other Week 7 Starts and Sits

Which quarterbacks have the most favorable fantasy matchups? Who is the best streaming option? And who has a poor matchup?

Here’s a breakdown of five notable quarterbacks featured in Sean Koerner, Chris Raybon and Matthew Freedman’s Week 7 fantasy football rankings.

The No. 1 QB

Patrick Mahomes, Kansas City Chiefs

Mahomes is averaging an excellent 8.8 yards per attempt this year and has an absurd 18 touchdown passes.

It’s not surprising the Chiefs have the slate’s highest implied total at 32.25 points since their offense boasts the second-highest scoring rate in the league, along with a bottom-three turnover rate, per Pro Football Reference.

Mahomes leads all quarterbacks in median, ceiling and floor projections in the FantasyLabs Player Models.

The Most Favorable Matchups

Jared Goff, Los Angeles Rams

Goff draws a 49ers defense that ranks dead last in Pro Football Focus’ pass-coverage grades. He’s been excellent this season, averaging 9.9 yards per attempt.

It’s been a continuation of what we started to see from Goff last season: The Cal product is now averaging 19.72 fantasy points per game under head coach Sean McVay (per the FantasyLabs Trends tool).

Goff carries an average rank of 4.7 among our rankers.

Andy Dalton, Cincinnati Bengals

Dalton will be participating in a game that presently owns a 58.5 over/under. He gets one of the softest matchups on the board against a Chiefs defense that’s allowing 340.3 passing yards per game and 6.6 yards per play, per Pro Football Reference.

Dalton has a solid 9.3 average rank among our rankers.

Matchup Downgrade

Alex Smith, Washington Redskins

Smith has been mediocre this season. He’s put up just 7.0 yards per attempt (25th) and has thrown only six touchdown passes through five games.

Overall, the Cowboys are allowing a slim 5.1 yards per play and opposing offenses are scoring on just 30.3% of their drives.

Koerner, Freedman and Raybon all have Smith ranked 20th or worse for Week 7.

The Best Streamer

Joe Flacco, Baltimore Ravens

Flacco is an intriguing streamer as the Ravens’ 26.25 implied team total is tied for the fifth-highest mark for Week 7, as he takes on a Saints defense that ranks as PFF’s No. 29 pass-coverage unit.

He has an average rank of 15.0 among our experts.
