Which quarterbacks have the most favorable fantasy matchups? Who is the best streaming option? And who has a poor matchup?
Here’s a breakdown of five notable quarterbacks featured in Sean Koerner, Chris Raybon and Matthew Freedman’s Week 13 fantasy football rankings.
The No. 1 QB
Patrick Mahomes, Kansas City Chiefs
Mahomes draws one of the best matchups on the board against a Raiders defense that can’t rush the passer, generating a league-low 10 sacks this season, good for 0.91 sacks per game.
Overall, the Raiders have allowed 25 passing touchdowns in 2018, along with a league-high 8.8 yards per attempt.
The Chiefs’ 35.25 implied total leads the slate. Mahomes is also our rankers’ unanimous No. 1 quarterback.
The Most Favorable Matchups
Cam Newton, Carolina Panthers
Newton has a favorable matchup against a Bucs defense that grades as Pro Football Focus’ worst defensive unit. Efficiency is key for quarterbacks and Newton’s 0.63 fantasy points per dropback trails only Mahomes and Drew Brees this season.
Cam checks in as the No. 2 quarterback among all rankers for Week 13.
Jameis Winston, Tampa Bay Buccaneers
The Panthers-Bucs matchup is tied with Chiefs-Raiders for the highest over/under on the slate at 56 (see live odds here).
According to our Correlations Dashboard, opposing quarterbacks are positively correlated in a strong way. So if we’re high on Newton, it’s reasonable to also be high on Winston.
Winston carries an average rank of 5.0 among our rankers.

Matchup Downgrade
Matt Ryan, Atlanta Falcons
Ryan will take on a Ravens defense that’s allowing a league-low 4.7 yards per play, and they rank inside the top seven in PFF’s overall defensive grades and pass-coverage grades.
Overall, Ryan has been solid this season, averaging 22.6 fantasy points per game, but he’ll be tested against a defense allowing 19.3 fantasy points per game to quarterbacks this season, the second-lowest mark in the league.
Ryan is sporting an average rank of 14.7 for Week 13.
The Best Streamer
Lamar Jackson, Baltimore Ravens
There’s a chance Jackson could still be available in your league, but this is also contingent on the health of Joe Flacco (hip).
Over the past two weeks, Jackson’s 0.76 fantasy points per dropback is the third-highest mark in the league, trailing only Brees and Mahomes over that span.
Koerner, Freedman and Raybon are all high on Jackson, who cracks the top 10 in all of their ranks.
