Point Guard
Stud
Damian Lillard is currently questionable with a hamstring injury, but he warrants stud consideration if he’s able to suit up. He’s been an excellent source of value since returning to the lineup recently, posting a positive Plus/Minus in four of five games on FanDuel. That includes a 59.8 FanDuel point performance two games ago.
The Blazers also own one of the top matchups of the day vs. the Pelicans. They rank just 25th in defensive efficiency, giving Lillard an Opponent Plus/Minus of +1.05. Lillard also stands out as an elite value on FanDuel given his Bargain Rating of 96%.
Value
The Timberwolves are going to be extremely thin in the backcourt on Tuesday. Anthony Edwards, Patrick Beverley, and Josh Okogie have all been ruled out for health and safety protocols.
That should leave plenty of minutes for Jaylen Nowell. He’s been excellent when he’s seen the court this season, averaging 1.08 DraftKings points per minute, and he’s currently projected for 30 minutes in our NBA Models. That makes him an extremely appealing option at just $3,300.
Fast Break
Chris Paul isn’t going to need to do as much for the Suns now that Devin Booker is back in the lineup, but there’s still plenty to like about him. The Suns lead the slate with a 115.5-point implied team total, and Paul leads the position with an Opponent Plus/Minus of +3.43. His 10 Pro Trends are also tied for most at the position on FanDuel, where his $8,400 salary comes with a Bargain Rating of 92%.
Devonte’ Graham stands out as one of the best pure values at the position on DraftKings. His $5,400 salary comes with a Bargain Rating of 93%, and he’s coming off back-to-back excellent performances. He’s racked up at least 36.0 DraftKings points in both games, so he’s an appealing option.
Shooting Guard
Stud
D’Angelo Russell is another member of the Timberwolves who should benefit from their current absences. He’s averaged 1.07 FanDuel points per minute this season, and he’s increased his assist rate by +15.5% with Edwards and Beverley off the court. Russell is currently projected for 34 minutes in our NBA Models, and he’s historically averaged a Plus/Minus of +1.67 with a comparable salary and minute projection (per the Trends tool).
Value
Derrick Rose is currently questionable with an ankle injury, which caused him to miss the Knicks’ last game. If he’s able to suit up, he deserves heavy consideration for the shorthanded Knicks. They’re going to be without Immanuel Quickley, R.J. Barrett, Miles McBride, and Quentin Grimes in the backcourt, and they were so thin in the backcourt in their last game that Tom Thibodeau had to dust off Kemba Walker. Rose has averaged 0.98 FanDuel points per minute this season, and he owns an Opponent Plus/Minus of +3.14 vs. the Pistons.
Fast Break
Malik Beasley is another appealing option for the Timberwolves. He’s racked up at least 30.4 minutes in back-to-back games, and he’s increased his production to 0.87 DraftKings points per minute over the past month. Unsurprisingly, Beasley has fared well with the extra playing time, posting a positive Plus/Minus in both contests.
Caris LeVert continues to stand out as underpriced on FanDuel. His $6,500 salary comes with a Bargain Rating of 97%, and he’s posted an average Plus/Minus of +7.72 over his past 10 games. LeVert has also erupted for at least 48.7 FanDuel points in two of his past four games, so he has plenty of upside at his current salary.
Small Forward
Stud
The Lakers have been a massive disappointment to start the year, and they’re currently in seventh place in the Western Conference standings. They’re also expected to be without Anthony Davis for the next four weeks, so LeBron James is going to have to do a lot of heavy lifting. LeBron remains one of the best players in basketball, and he’s averaged 1.39 DraftKings points per minute with AD off the court this season. He racked up 63.5 DraftKings points without Davis in his last game, giving him one of the highest ceilings on the slate.
Value
Alec Burks has taken over as the Knicks’ starting point guard, and he stands out as one of the best pure values of the day on FanDuel. He’s priced at just $5,600, resulting in a Bargain Rating of 98%, and he’s coming off 41.1 minutes in his last outing. He figures to command another monster workload given the Knicks’ absences, and Burks has averaged 0.86 FanDuel points per minute this season.
Fast Break
The Mavericks continue to play without Luka Doncic, and Tim Hardaway Jr. has been one of the biggest beneficiaries of his absence. He’s logged at least 40.1 minutes in back-to-back games, and Hardaway has seen a team-high usage bump of +5.1% with Doncic off the court. He’s averaged 1.04 DraftKings points per minute in that situation, so he can do a lot of damage with 40+ minutes of playing time.
Josh Hart has been one of the best values at the position recently. He’s posted an average Plus/Minus of +4.65 over his past 10 games on DraftKings, thanks in part to his ability to stuff the stat sheet. He’s posted double-doubles in three of his past four games, and he missed a triple-double by just two assists in his last contest.
Power Forward
Stud
Julius Randle is pretty massively overpriced on DraftKings, but his $8,800 salary on FanDuel comes with a Bargain Rating of 98%. His 10 Pro Trends are also tied for the top mark at the position, and he carries more upside than usual given the Knicks’ absences. He’s coming off nearly 41 minutes in their last game, and Randle has averaged 1.13 FanDuel points per minute this season.
Value
Naz Reid is expected to play around 20 minutes for the Timberwolves tonight, which makes him a nice value at just $3,200 on DraftKings. Reid has averaged 1.06 DraftKings points per minute this season, so he doesn’t need much playing time to pay off his current price tag. Reid has historically posted a Plus/Minus of +5.17 with a comparable salary and minute projection.
Fast Break
Isaiah Stewart is starting to turn things on for the Pistons. He’s averaged 0.88 FanDuel points per minute this season, and he’s coming off 29.6 minutes in his last outing. He has consistently been able to provide value at this price tag when he sees that much court time. He’s played at least 29.1 minutes in six of his past nine games, and he’s posted a positive Plus/Minus in five of them.
The Blazers have a pair of viable power forwards on DraftKings in Nassir Little and Larry Nance Jr. Nance is currently projected for slightly more playing time, but Little has been the better per-minute producer over the past month. Little also stands out as the better pure value on DraftKings given his Bargain Rating of 97%.
Center
Stud
Karl-Anthony Towns has been a fantasy disappointment for most of the season, and he’s posted a negative Plus/Minus on DraftKings in five of his past six games. He still seems overpriced at $9,900 on DraftKings, but he does carry a bit more upside than usual with Edwards out of the lineup. He’s increased his usage rate by a team-high +5.1% with Edwards and Beverley off the court this season, resulting in an average of 1.58 DraftKings points per minute. That represents a massive increase from his average of 1.33 DraftKings points per minute in general this season.
Value
The Heat have been playing without Bam Adebayo recently, which has forced them to experiment with some different center options. Omer Yurtseven has been the best of the bunch from a fantasy perspective. He’s averaged 1.08 DraftKings points per minute over the past month, and he’s currently projected for 21 minutes in our NBA Models. That should be more than enough for him to pay off his $3,500 price tag.
Fast Break
Jonas Valanciunas remains one of the best in the business on a per-minute basis. He’s averaged 1.25 FanDuel points per minute over the past month, and he’s posted a positive Plus/Minus in six straight games. He’s underpriced at just $7,800 in a strong matchup vs. the Blazers, resulting in an Opponent Plus/Minus of +2.31.
Myles Turner has also been a consistent source of value on FanDuel recently. He’s posted a positive Plus/Minus in five straight games, and he’s scored at least 37.9 FanDuel points in each of his past two. Turner has gotten a bit more expensive recently, but his $6,500 salary still comes with a Bargain Rating of 85%.
