Week 8 NFL DFS Stacks and Picks

Tua Tagovailoa + Tyreek Hill + De’Von Achane + Trey McBride

  • Tua Tagovailoa ($6,100 DraftKings, $7,000 FanDuel)
  • Tyreek Hill ($6,200 DraftKings, $7,600 FanDuel)
  • De’Von Achane ($7,000 DraftKings, $6,800 FanDuel)
  • Trey McBride ($5,500 DraftKings, $6,700 FanDuel)

Everyone welcome back the Miami Dolphins!

After Tua Tagovailoa suffered another concussion in Week 2, the Dolphins offense has been a disaster. They are 1-3 in their last four games while averaging only 10 points per game. The Skylar Thompson and Tyler Huntley experience disappointment in a major way, but luckily, Tagovailoa is coming back this week.

Due to how miserable the Dolphins offense has been recently, the algorithms at DraftKings and FanDuel have the salaries for Tua Tagovailoa, Tyreek Hill, and De’Von Achane absurdly cheap.

We wrote up this stack in Week 1, and each player delivered with 20+ DraftKings points. Now, with everyone healthy again, we are going right back to the well. This is a stack with a proven ceiling, and at these prices, this is a smash spot for the Dolphins offense.

The Dolphins are four-point home favorites against the Cardinals, implied for 25 points. It is impossible to ignore this spot for the Dolphins, which is why their player ownership is so high. In our current models, Tyreek Hill is the most popular wide receiver on the slate, and De’Von Achane is the fifth-highest-owned running back. Tua Tagovailoa’s ownership remains minimal, which is encouraging for this team stack.

Having no teams on a bye week and the main slate being 13 games on DraftKings and 14 on FanDuel has kept their projected ownership somewhat in check. On a regular week, the ownership of this stack might get out of control, but that is not the case this week with so many players and teams to choose from.

Not only do the prices make this an excellent stacking opportunity, but so does the matchup. The Cardinals defense has been exploitable all season long. They rank 26th in defense DVOA, allowing 25.4 points and 376.4 yards per game. It has been a while since we have seen the Dolphins offense fully healthy, but this is a firepower group who can put up points in a hurry.

There is not much more that needs to be said about this Dolphins stack. Jaylen Waddle and Raheem Mostert may factor into the equation a little bit, but Achane and Hill are the players who take the Dolphins to a different level. Stack the thoroughbreds against the Cardinals in Week 8.

The tight end position has risen from the dead. There are a plethora of great options at the position this week. However, for tournaments and this game stack, Trey McBride sticks out like a sore thumb. He continues to lead all tight ends in target share at 26% and ranks second in routes behind only Travis Kelce at 86%. With a aDOT of 7.6 and 24% air yards, McBride is an elite tight end option in Week 8.

This full game stack totals $24,800 of the $50,000 lineup cap on DraftKings. You will have to get a little creative with the other players being added, but there is so much upside in these four studs that can bring you to the top of the leaderboard. This is truly a steal getting these players at such cheap prices.

Jordan Love + Jayden Reed + Tucker Kraft + Brian Thomas Jr.

  • Jordan Love ($7,100 DraftKings, $8,900 FanDuel)
  • Jayden Reed ($6,700 DraftKings, $8,100 FanDuel)
  • Tucker Kraft ($4,600 DraftKings, $5,900 FanDuel)
  • Brian Thomas Jr. ($6,400 DraftKings, $6,500 FanDuel)

There are no games that have a 50-point game total this week. However, the Packers and Jaguars come just shy at 49.5 points. The Packers are four-point road favorites looking to win their fourth game in a row. They have a 26.75 implied team total, which is the second-highest on this large 13-game slate.

Everything starts with volatile quarterback Jordan Love. Trying to emulate the great Brett Favre, Love leads the league in interceptions (8) and is tied for second in touchdown passes (15) despite already missing two games. He is averaging 270.2 passing yards per game, which also ranks second in the league.

The most difficult part of Packer stacks is often who to target for the receiving options. Jayden Reed, Romeo Doubs, and Dontayvion Wicks all have a 19% target share this season. All three, including Christian Watson and tight end Tucker Kraft, are all in play to pair with Love. Even running back Josh Jacobs caught a receiving touchdown pass last week for the first time in his career.

All Packers pass catchers are in play, but Reed and Kraft are my preferred stacking partners this week. The best part about Reed is they try to get him involved in so many different ways. Through the air, quick screens, and even in the running game. He has at least one rushing attempt in every game this season and leads the Packers receiving core in yards, targets, receptions, and fantasy points per game.

Last week was the second game all season where Reed finished with under double-digit fantasy points. Expect a bounce-back game against the Jaguars, who rank dead last in defense DVOA and are allowing 273.9 passing yards per game, which is the second-highest in the league. Love and his pass catchers are in a phenomenal spot, which is why this is another fantastic team stack to get exposure to.

Tied for the team lead in receiving touchdowns is tight end Tucker Kraft. He ran a route on 97% of Love’s dropbacks last week, which was a season-high for him. Kraft hauled in his fourth receiving touchdown in as many weeks. He is another preferred stacking option due to how often he is used and given the ceiling that Kraft has at the tight end position.

Ultimately, the Jaguars are allowing a league-high 23.8 fantasy points per game to the quarterback position and are allowing the third-highest to wide receivers and eighth-highest to tight ends. A Love, Reed, Kraft stack has the highest ceiling for the Packers this week.

There are two strong options on the Jaguars to add to this Packers stack. Tight end Evan Engram and wide receiver Brian Thomas Jr. I personally prefer the latter who has scored a touchdown in three of his last four games. Similar to Reed, Thomas Jr. has been getting a few rushing attempts which proves how much the Jaguars want to get their standout rookie wide receiver the ball.

Thomas Jr. leads the Jaguars in receiving yards, targets, receptions, and touchdowns. The Jaguars have won two of their last three games and will hopefully push the Packers offense. With a 49.5-point total, there is a solid chance that this game shouts out and provides plenty of scoring opportunities.
