Week 15 NFL DFS Stacks and Picks

Kyler Murray + Marvin Harrison Jr. + Trey McBride + Hunter Henry

  • Kyler Murray ($6,000 DraftKings, $7,800 FanDuel)
  • Marvin Harrison Jr. ($5,500 DraftKings, $6,600 FanDuel)
  • Trey McBride ($6,000 DraftKings, $7,500 FanDuel)
  • Hunter Henry ($4,300 DraftKings, $5,000 FanDuel)

After three consecutive losses, the Arizona Cardinals currently find themselves on the outside looking in to the playoff picture. They have a 12% chance to make the playoffs but a favorable schedule in their last four games, starting with this week hosting the New England Patriots. The Cardinals are touchdown favorites, implied for 26 points, which is the fourth-highest total on this 12-game slate.

The Patriots have nothing to play for and, at this point, are probably trying to lose games to get a higher draft pick. They have also lost each of their last three games and are allowing 29 points and 342.7 total yards per game. The Cardinals offense has flaws, but they can take advantage of this cupcake matchup.

For the Cardinals, everything starts with quarterback Kyler Murray. The six-year quarterback has stayed healthy for the first time in the last three seasons and has a respectable 71.6 QBR, which ranks fifth among quarterbacks this year. His 68.4% completion percentage also ranks him just outside the top five, and he is always a threat on the ground with 444 rushing yards and four rushing touchdowns.

Due to his relatively cheap salary, Murray leads all quarterbacks on this slate for both DraftKings and FanDuel in projected ownership and Pro Trends with six. He also has the highest projected Plus/Minus. Murray is an incredible cash-game quarterback and will be a popular stacking partner in tournaments. Despite his popularity, there are plenty of other ways to differentiate your lineups. This spot is simply too good to ignore. The Cardinals need a victory, and the Patriots are more than happy to give it to them.

There has been plenty of chatter lately to get wide receiver Marvin Harrison Jr. more opportunities. He has averaged 10 targets per game in his last two contests, but he has not been able to get loose in the yardage column yet. Harrison Jr. has only surpassed 100 receiving yards twice all season, but the rookie still leads the team with seven touchdowns, which also ranks him tied for sixth-highest in the league.

Due to his inconsistent output, Harrison Jr. is by far the cheapest he has been all season on DraftKings at $5,500. That will make this Cardinals stack that much more affordable. This is also a strong matchup for Harrison Jr. The Patriots have allowed opposing wide receivers to average 33.7 fantasy points per game, which is the seventh-highest in the league. This is a great spot for a Harrison Jr. ceiling performance.

Tight end Trey McBride leads the Cardinals in every receiving statistic besides touchdowns. He still has zero, which is hard to believe. Touchdown regression has to come at some point. Why not this week? Regardless of McBride’s failure to hit paydirt, he continues to lead all tight ends in routes run and target share while ranking in the top three of nearly every other statistic for tight ends this season.

Over the last three games, McBride has been peppered with targets. Not only has McBride been given 41 targets during that time, but he has hauled in 31 receptions for 299 receiving yards. Despite scoring zero touchdowns, McBride ranks third among tight ends in fantasy points per game, proving how dominant he has been this season. I love McBride and this Cardinals passing attack stack this week.

One thing I do not necessarily love is playing double tight end this week with all of the elite running back options. However, Hunter Henry deserves his flowers. Similar to McBride, Henry leads the Patriots in nearly all receiving categories besides touchdowns. Over his last three games, Henry is drawing 26 targets while catching 18 of them for 182 total yards. Henry is the desired bring-back for this Cardinals stack.

With a 46.5-point game total and playing in a dome, this is a fantastic opportunity for a shootout.

Justin Herbert + Ladd McConkey + Stone Smartt + Mike Evans

  • Justin Herbert ($5,900 DraftKings, $7,500 FanDuel)
  • Ladd McConkey ($6,300 DraftKings, $7,100 FanDuel)
  • Stone Smartt ($2,600 DraftKings, $4,500 FanDuel)
  • Mike Evans ($7,100 DraftKings, $8,300 FanDuel)

A matchup that has playoff implications on both sides is this meeting between the Los Angeles Chargers and Tampa Bay Buccaneers. The Chargers are three-point home favorites, implied for a healthy 24.25 points. After a narrow loss to the Chiefs last week, this is a great bounce-back spot for the Chargers.

The Buccaneers took care of business in their last three games but played the Giants, Panthers, and Raiders. Overall, their defense is still one to attack, especially through the air. The Buccaneers are a pass-funnel defense that is allowing the third-most passing yards in the league at 253.4 per game. They rank 11th in rushing yards allowed, making this a perfect spot to attack with the Chargers’ air raid.

Chargers’ head coach Jim Harbaugh has done a sensational job with quarterback Justin Herbert. Through 13 games, Herbert has posted a career-high QBR and a career-low one interception. He has been a boom-or-bust fantasy producer that has been dictated basically by matchups. The only two games where Herbert has eclipsed 20 DraftKings points were against the Bengals and Saints, who both are also terrible at defending the pass. This is an incredible spot for a Herbert ceiling game this week.

Priced under $6,000 on DraftKings, Herbert is popping as a fantastic value option at the quarterback position. Kyler Murray may be a stronger option in cash games, but Herbert has the ceiling projection to be one of the best points-per-dollar quarterbacks on the slate. The Buccaneers are tied for allowing the second-most fantasy points in the league at 20.4 per game. This is a great matchup for Herbert.

One of the best parts for Herbert is he probably gets his leading receiver Ladd McConkey back from injury this week. He missed last week with knee/shoulder injuries, but he still leads the Chargers in several receiving categories. The star rookie has 58 receptions on 81 targets for 815 yards and four touchdowns. After a relatively slow start to the season, McConkey started to find his groove after the bye week. He has averaged 91.7 receiving yards per game over his last six games, with three games over 100+ yards.

Likely due to his injury designation, McConkey is only projected for 11% ownership on DraftKings. His ownership will likely come up throughout the rest of the weekend, and of course, make sure that he is able to play this week. Keep an eye on his status the closer we get to Sunday, but if he is able to go, McConkey looks to be one of the best pure values at the wide receiver position this week.

Priced barely above the minimum this week is tight end Stone Smartt. With Will Dissly doubtful and Hayden Hurst on the injured reserve, Smartt has taken his new opportunity and run with it. Smartt hauled in all three of his targets last week for 54 yards and 8.4 DraftKings points. He set a season-high in routes at 33%, and that is expected to rise substantially without Dissly and Hurst this week.

At $2,600 on DraftKings and $4,500 on FanDuel, Smartt is a cheap way to get exposure to this Chargers offense. The tight end position is still strong, but getting a double-digit fantasy point game from a super cheap Smartt can go a long way in lineup builds. He fits perfectly in this matchup, where the Chargers should be throwing more. Pair Herbert with McConkey and Smartt to pay up at the rest of your positions.

The Buccaneers offense has been clicking on all cylinders, but they also have several players with injury designations going into this week. Mike Evans and Bucky Irving both did not practice Thursday, while Sterling Shepard, who led the team in targets last week, is also questionable. There will be one or two very valuable pieces in a bring-back for the Buccaneers. For now, I would recommend Mike Evans. Without Chris Godwin, Evans is still the No. 1 receiving option, and Baker Mayfield literally knows how many yards per game Evans needs to get to 1,000 receiving yards for the 11th straight year.
