There are an abundance of tools at FantasyLabs to use for your NFL DFS lineups each week. Our most popular tools are our NFL Player Models, which house our NFL DFS projections from Sean Koerner.
You can use these projections in our models with our Lineup Builder to hand-build your lineups or use our Lineup Optimizer to effortlessly create up to 150 lineups for your NFL DFS tournaments.
In this article, we will go position by position, highlighting my favorite plays for both cash games and single-entry/three-max GPP contests. These plays are also viable in large field tournaments but do not focus on ownership percentages.
NFL DFS Cash Game + Single-Entry GPP Locks
NFL DFS Quarterback Picks
Josh Allen ($8,500 DraftKings, $9,300 FanDuel) Buffalo Bills @ New York Jets
After a rather subpar performance vs. the Packers on Sunday night, you know Allen and the Bills will bounce back at home this week, even against a surprisingly good Jets defense. Vegas is giving the Jets D very little respect. however, as Buffalo has the highest team total on the slate at 28.75.
Being that’s the case, Allen is yet again the top cash game quarterback on the board, even at his $8,500 salary on DraftKings. The Bills rank second in the NFL in pass rate over expectation, while Allen has accounted for 21 of the 24 offensive touchdowns that Buffalo has scored this season.
There is simply no one with his floor/ceiling combination.
Justin Fields ($5,300 DraftKings, $7,400 FanDuel) Chicago Bears vs. Miami Dolphins
While I do not mind Aaron Rodgers in a plum spot against the woeful Lions, I think Green Bay goes extremely run-heavy, and I’m just not sure he has the requisite ceiling we’re looking for right now. Instead, we will pivot to Justin Fields, who is extremely cheap for the way he’s been playing of late.
He’s scored at least 19.4 DK points in each of his past three games, including 24+ in each of his past two. Last week against the Cowboys, he went for 26.04. He’s trending up in a big way, and a lot of this success has to do with his rushing prowess. Fields has now rushed for at least 60 yards in each of his past three games while posting two touchdowns on the ground in that stretch as well.
This keeps his floor incredibly high, especially in a spot against a Dolphins defense that’s allowed both the fifth-most rushing yards and the sixth-most DraftKings points to opposing quarterbacks on the season.
NFL DFS Running Back Picks
Aaron Jones ($7,400 DraftKings, $7,800 FanDuel) Green Bay Packers @ Detroit Lions
Jones has been getting great usage of late, as he’s seen 43 opportunities over his past two weeks. His involvement in the passing game has kept his floor high all season, catching at least three passes in seven of eight games. Jones has been the only reliable option on offense for Aaron Rodgers this season and is now presented with this pristine matchup against the worst defense in the NFL.
Only two teams have allowed more DraftKings points to opposing running backs this season than the Lions. If the Packers want to keep their season afloat, they absolutely must win this game, and I fully expect them to lean run heavy here.
It may be a bit hard to get to Austin Ekeler in cash games this week, making Jones the preferred option at the top of the board for $1,400 less.
Travis Etienne Jr. ($6,300 DraftKings, $7,600 FanDuel) Jacksonville Jaguars vs. Las Vegas Raiders
In his first game without James Robinson on the roster, Etienne put a stranglehold on this Jacksonville backfield, receiving 24 of the 32 running back carries against the Broncos. He parlayed that into 156 yards and a touchdown and now comes home to face a Raiders defense that just got eviscerated by Alvin Kamara for 158 total yards and three touchdowns.
He’s simply too cheap for his new role and will remain on the field regardless of game flow. It’s very tough to fade 20+ touches for $6,300 under any circumstance, but when you factor in the matchup, you’re bordering on a lock-button situation.
NFL DFS Wide Receiver Picks
Joshua Palmer ($5,100 DraftKings, $6,200 FanDuel) Los Angeles Chargers @ Atlanta Falcons
The Chargers are extremely shorthanded this week with the news that Keenan Allen will not play due to his nagging hamstring injury. With Mike Williams already on IR, Palmer will become the de facto WR1 for Justin Herbert this week.
Palmer was finally starting to play well before suffering a concussion that forced him to miss Week 7. He’s seen eight or more targets in three of the five game’s that Keenan has missed this season, and now there are even more vacated targets sans Mike Williams.
This is also the dream spot for wide receivers, as the Falcons rank dead last in DraftKings points allowed to the position. Over the last three games, they’ve allowed lines of 8/83/2 to Brandon Aiyuk, 7/132/2 to Ja’Marr Chase, and then last week’s 6/152/1 undressing by D.J. Moore.
Simply put, this defense is awful, and Josh Palmer is a $5,100 WR1 on a team that sits fifth in the NFL in pass rate over expectation.
Amon-Ra St. Brown ($6,600 DraftKings, $7,100 FanDuel) Detroit Lions vs. Green Bay Packers
Much like Palmer, St. Brown will likely be the only name in town for this Lions receiving corps, as D.J Chark is on IR, while Josh Reynolds is doubtful with a back injury. To make matters worse, the Lions then dealt tight end T.J. Hockenson to the Vikings at the trade deadline.
St. Brown looked quite healthy last week against Miami, catching seven-of-10 targets for 69 yards. Opposite the Sun God, the Lions will be trotting out Kalif Raymond — who’s barely tall enough to ride roller coasters — and someone named Tom Kennedy. And oh, by the way, D’Andre Swift is also questionable to play in this game with his shoulder/ankle injuries.
St. Brown is the cheapest he’s been on DraftKings since Week 2, sitting at just $6,600. Obviously, the spot against the Packers is not as clean as it was against Miami last week, but we could reasonably project double-digit looks for the former USC Trojan this week, and that kind of volume is difficult to find at his salary.
NFL DFS Tight End Picks
Robert Tonyan ($3,800 DraftKings, $5,000 FanDuel) Green Bay Packers @ Detroit Lions
Tonyan rates out as the best point-per-dollar play at tight end this week, with both Mark Andrews and Travis Kelce off the main slate and Darren Waller questionable again. We could pencil him in for at least six DraftKings points, with some upside beyond that, considering the spot against the Lions, who rank 27th in DraftKings points allowed to the position and just allowed a 3/38/1 line to Mike Gesicki.
Literally, anyone is in play when you’re playing Detroit, especially so when you’re a tight end that costs below $4,000 on DraftKings.
Brock Wright ($2,500 DraftKings, $4,400 FanDuel) Detroit Lions vs. Green Bay Packers
If you find yourself needing to save money, we get to roster a literal stone min punt this week in Brock Wright. Wright is the new TE1 for the Lions now that T.J. Hockenson is gone. He played OK last year when Hockenson missed time, and this week with Detroit being so banged up at receiver, he could easily get five-to-seven targets in this spot.
There’s not much else to say here; the man costs $2,500 and is going to be on the field a ton. There’s never anything wrong with punting off tight end in cash.
