CS:GO DFS Projections for Thursday, May 7: G2, forZe, and Everyone Else

Thursday’s slate brings us an early 9:00 a.m. ET lock with five games from the CIS and EU regions. It’s a step-down in the level of competition that we’ve been accustomed to over the past couple of weeks, but as long as there are prizes to be won in DFS, that’s fine with me.

CS:GO DFS Notes for Thursday, May 7

DraftKings

  • forZe, currently ranked No. 18 in the world, is listed as the heaviest favorite on the slate. The Russian gamers check in at -1250 against Unique, who are rated as the world’s No. 89 team. Interestingly enough, the top-projected FL1T out-paces xsepower by six projected points, though he finds himself $1,600 cheaper at $8,000. Xsepower is coming off an impressive 42:24 kill:death performance against Winstrike, but FL1T has the upper-hand in overall kill share. Jerry is nothing special with average kill and death numbers, but at $6,200, his value rating pops given the game environment.
  • Sh1ro has been on an absolute tear of late, racking up a 179:99 kill:death ratio over his past four slates, including a 49:24 performance against the aforementioned forZe on May 4. He is the most expensive player on Thursday’s slate, but shows no sign of slowing down with his team listed as a -160 favorite against Winstrike.
  • G2 is probably the most talented team on the slate, currently ranked No. 6 in the world. They are heavy favorites against c0ntact Gaming and boast three of the top six projected players in kennyS, huNter-, and nexa. They are each priced above $7,700, making it next to impossible to stack the top G2 gamers in a lineup with sh1ro. That sets up an interesting decision point and could result in sh1ro checking in at lower-than-expected ownership in tournaments.
  • Bypassing sh1ro, the other members of Gambit Youngsters are extremely cheap given their win odds with Ax1LE listed as the second-most expensive player at only $6,600. While sh1ro has dominated in kill share of late, all are reasonable plays given the game environment.

FanDuel

  • On FanDuel, we have the unique situation of two “team” entities ranked atop the value charts with forZe and G2 Esports occupying spots 1 and 2. With teams priced so closely together on FanDuel, I’d expect 90% or more of the field to be rostering one of these two entities, opening up contrarian avenues at the position.
  • Including the “team” entities, forZe and G2 occupy 12 of the top 14 values on the slate. It will be hard to get away from those two teams, but aizy, sh1ro, and El1an are all attractive pivots with kill shares above 21%.
