Royals (+201) at Indians (-220) — 7:10 PM EST
Royals out: Salvador Perez (sprained left thumb)
Salvador Perez remains sidelined with a sprained left thumb, so the Royals will roll with Whit Merrifield, Adalberto Mondesi, and Alex Gordon at the top of the order for their matchup against the Indians. They’re presently implied to score just 3.4 runs and have posted an underwhelming combined .308 wOBA vs. right-handed pitchers over the past 12 months. This is all great news for Indians righty Mike Clevinger, who has allowed three or fewer runs in eight consecutive starts. Overall, Clevinger has posted a +5.1 Plus/Minus with a 60 percent Consistency Rating on FanDuel over his past 10 starts. He’s again in play on FanDuel, where Clevinger’s $9,900 price tag comes with an 87 percent Bargain Rating. He also carries a strong 6.8 K Prediction and is set up well against a Royals lineup that has combined to strike out ever .261 at bats over the past calendar year.
Twins (+262) at Astros (-290) — 8:10 PM EST
Astros out: Marwin Gonzalez (right oblique discomfort)
Marwin Gonzalez was pulled from Monday’s game due to discomfort in his right oblique, and he’s expected to miss Wednesday’s game as well. The Astros will go with George Springer, Jose Altuve, and Alex Bregman at the top of the order in Gonzalez’s absence. They’re presently implied to score a respectable 4.9 runs and are especially in play on FanDuel, where every starter except Springer and Tyler White carry a Bargain Rating of at least 70 percent. Altuve in particular is set up well against righty Trevor May, as he’s posted positive wOBA and ISO splits vs. right-handed pitchers over the past 12 months. Overall, Altuve ranks among the top-10 second basemen in Tuesday’s main slate in wOBA and ISO vs. right-handed pitchers. May has been used as a relief pitcher for most of the season, but has generally done a solid job limiting big hits: He’s one of just four pitchers in Tuesday’s main slate that have allowed fewer than 0.75 home runs per nine innings pitched over the past 12 months, Still, May will have his hands full with an Astros lineup that has combined to post a .335 wOBA vs. right-handed pitchers over the past calendar year – the fourth-highest mark in Tuesday’s main slate.
