Max Kepler missed Sundays’ game due to general soreness, but he’ll bat fifth Sunday for a Twins lineup presently implied to score a solid 4.6 runs. The Twins are especially appealing on FanDuel, where they boast the second-highest Team Value Rating in Monday’s main slate. Kepler has hit safely in eight of his last nine starts while posting fantasy-friendly 48 and 44 percent fly-ball and hard-hit rates, respectively, over the past 15 days. He’s certainly in play on FanDuel, where his $2,500 price tag comes with a 99 percent Bargain Rating, Shane Bieber hasn’t exactly been a pitcher to fear recently, allowing 10 runs in his last 8.2 innings pitched. He’ll have his work cut out for him against a Twins lineup that has combined to post a .335 wOBA vs. right-handed pitchers over the past 12 months – the second-highest mark in Monday’s main slate.
Rockies (+125) at Cardinals (-135) — 8:10 PM EST
Cardinals out: Jose Martinez (sore ankle)
Jose Martinez was scratched Sunday due to a sore ankle, and he’ll again sit out Monday against the Rockies. The Cardinals will roll with Matt Carpenter, Yadier Molina, and Paul DeJong at the top of the order. While they’re currently implied to score a middling 4.3 runs, the Cardinals have combined to post a strong .325 wOBA vs. southpaws over the past calendar year. They boast power throughout the order, as only DeJong and Marcell Ozuna have failed to post positive ISO splits vs. lefties over the past 12 months. This is all bad news for Tyer Anderson, although the Rockies’ southpaw has been dominant in recent weeks. Overall, Anderson has allowed two or fewer runs and pitched at least six innings in five consecutive starts. He ranks among the main slate’s top-two pitchers in average exit velocity and hard-hit rate allowed over the past 15 days.
