MLB Pro Model Stacks: Tuesday 6/27

This series uses the FantasyLabs Tools to analyze MLB stacks in the day’s slate. The series does not provide play or fade recommendations. It provides analysis.

Detroit Tigers

Today the top four-man FanDuel stack in the CSURAM88 Model belongs to the Tigers, who are implied for 5.2 runs, the fifth-highest mark in the main slate (per our Vegas Dashboard):

All four members of the stack have crushed the ball recently, posting average batted ball distances of at least 220 feet with a 37-plus percent hard hit rate over the past 15 days. They’re set up well against Royals lefty Matthew Strahm, who has a 42 percent recent fly ball rate, the fourth-highest mark in the slate. His tendency to give up fly balls could be problematic with winds expected to gust out to left field at 10 miles per hour (per our MLB Lineups page).

New York Yankees

With the Lineup Builder, it’s easy to incorporate stacks into DFS rosters. Today’s top four-man ISO DraftKings stack belongs to the Yankees:

Per our Trends tool, all four stacked batters have historically offered better value against lefties. Combined, the four Yankees have a +1.64 Plus/Minus with a 47.2 percent Consistency Rating and a 21 percent Upside Rating against lefties since 2014. They face White Sox lefty Jose Quintana, who has a recent average exit velocity of 93 miles per hour, tied for the fourth-highest mark in the main slate. Be sure to monitor lineups as lock approaches: Matt Holliday is currently questionable due to fatigue.

Los Angeles Dodgers

The top five-man DraftKings stack in the Bales Model is courtesy of the Dodgers. Their implied total of 5.1 runs is tied for the sixth-highest mark in the main slate:

All five stacked batters have positive wOBA and ISO differentials against righties over the past 12 months. Cody Bellinger has been the star of the group recently, posting a slate-high 65 percent hard hit rate over the past 15 days. While this is the top-five man stack for DraftKings, versions of this stack are also in play on FanDuel, where each player has a Bargain Rating of at least 70 percent. The Dodgers face Angels righty Jesse Chavez, who ranks among the slate’s bottom-five pitchers in average batted ball distance and exit velocity over the past 12 months. Be sure to check how the Dodgers’ ownership shakes out via our DFS Ownership Dashboard, which Pro subscribers can review after lineups lock.

Good luck, and be sure to read today’s MLB Breakdown!
