Minnesota Twins
With the Lineup Builder, it’s easy to incorporate stacks into DFS rosters. The five-man DraftKings stack with the highest CSURAM88 Model rating in the main slate belongs to the Twins:
Minnesota faces struggling Seattle righty Yovani Gallardo, who owns a slate-worst 1.61 WHIP and 96 mph exit velocity over his past two starts.
Miguel Sano stands out as one of the slate’s highest-rated batters, joining Robbie Grossman in this stack with a distance differential of at least +10 feet over the past 15 days. Although the Twins are tied for second in the slate with 5.2 implied runs (per our Vegas dashboard), weather concerns (as well as the Red Sox’s superior implied total of 6.3 runs) might keep Minnesota’s ownership low. Boston Red Sox
A top four-man FanDuel stack in the Bales Model belongs to the aforementioned Red Sox, who presently lead the slate with a 94 Team Value Rating:
Outside of Andrew Benintendi, every hitter in the stack possesses negative ISO differentials against right-handed pitchers. However — due to their high implied total — the Red Sox will be popular, and this stack could have low ownership because of Sandy Leon, who is projected to hit eighth. Leon has a recent batted ball distance of 239 feet — good for a differential of +34 feet — and a Recent Batted Ball Luck score of +76. Historically (per our Trends tool), similarly unlucky batters with comparable lineup spots, Statcast data, and distance differentials have produced a +3.36 Plus/Minus and 52.4 percent Consistency Rating.
San Diego Padres
The top four-man ISO stack on FanDuel belongs to the Padres, who are presently implied to score 4.5 runs:
The Padres face Reds righty Bronson Arroyo, who has recently pitched well (for him) — allowing a batted ball distance of 211 feet, exit velocity of 88 miles per hour, and hard hit rate of 26 percent over his past two starts. That said, Arroyo still owns a slate-worst 2.885 HR/9. He’s almost always the worst pitcher in any slate whenever he’s on the mound.
Leadoff hitter, Jose Pirela — with home runs in back-to-back games — stands out with unreal Statcast numbers, including a recent batted ball distance of 293 feet, exit velocity of 97 miles per hour, and hard hit rate of 68 percent. He also leads the slate with a 0.688 wOBA against right-handed pitchers.
