MLB Pro Model Stacks: Monday 5/15

This series uses the FantasyLabs Tools to analyze MLB stacks in the day’s slate. The series does not provide play or fade recommendations. It provides analysis.

New York Mets

The Mets claim the top-two four-man stacks when sorting by Pro Trends on FanDuel. Interestingly, both stacks include catcher Rene Rivera, who is projected to bat eighth for the Mets in their matchup against the Diamondbacks today:

Jay Bruce leads all players in Monday’s slate with eight FanDuel Pro Trends. Bruce, Neil Walker, and Rivera have all hit the ball hard lately, posting average batted ball distances over 225 feet over the past 15 days. Jose Reyes hasn’t offered the same power upside recently, but he does rank second among all third basemen in Monday’s slate with an average of .133 stolen bases per game over the past 12 months. The Mets have a good matchup against righty Zack Godley, who has allowed a .345 wOBA over the past 12 months – the third-highest mark in Monday’s slate.

Toronto Blue Jays

With the Lineup Builder, it’s easy to incorporate stacks into DFS rosters. Today’s highest-rated five-man DraftKings stack in the CSURAM88 Player Model is a 1-2-3-4-6 stack of the Blue Jays at the Rogers Centre. The Blue Jays are currently implied to score 4.8 runs, and they have top-two Team Value Ratings (TVR) on both DraftKings and FanDuel (per our Vegas Dashboard). Considering the Angels and Diamondbacks each have higher implied totals, the Blue Jays could have reduced ownership. Pro Subscribers can review ownership data across guaranteed prize pools of all stakes via our DFS Ownership Dashboard after lineups lock.

The Blue Jays will look to make life difficult for Bartolo Colon, who has struggled to limit big hits recently. Overall, Colon ranks as the second-worst pitcher in Monday’s slate in average batted ball distance, exit velocity, and hard hit rate over the past 15 days. This has contributed to some poor performances, as Big Sexy has allowed five-plus runs in three consecutive starts. He’s allowed a slate-high .372 ISO and .460 wOBA over the past 15 days.

Los Angeles Dodgers

The Dodgers offer the highest-rated stack based on ISO. They’ll take on the Giants at AT&T Park and could benefit from winds gusting out at 15 miles per hour (per our Lineups page):

Per our Trends tool, hitters have posted a +0.96 Plus/Minus on DraftKings with a 43.9 percent Consistency Rating in games with winds of at least 12 miles per hour gusting out. Joc Pederson and Cody Bellinger are especially set up well, as they own the two highest ISO differentials on Monday’s slate against right-handed pitchers over the past 12 months. They’ll face off against righty Matt Cain, who will take on a Dodgers lineup with a combined .328 wOBA – the second-highest mark in Monday’s slate.

Good luck, and be sure to read Bryan Mears’ MLB Breakdown!
