Stacking is often a key to success in the world of daily fantasy football. Using our Stacking Tool, we can identify stacks that are highly rated. Here, we will be looking at stacks in the Levitan Player Model.
QB-WR (DK): Andy Dalton-A.J. Green
There’s one small issue with Dalton: He hasn’t scored over 24 DraftKings points once this season. At the same time, however, he has been quite consistent and hasn’t put up any lines that would completely kill your lineups. The Bengals will be facing a bottom-ten pass defense in the Buffalo Bills, and Dalton should have a reasonable chance to surpass the 20-point threshold.
There’s some obvious risk here simply because Jeremy Hill and Giovani Bernard could take over very quickly. It’s happened before, and the Bills run defense is currently ranked 22nd in Football Outsiders’ Defense-Adjusted Value Over Average (DVOA). Still, Green has a decent matchup (per our Matchups tool) against the very beatable Ronald Darby, who’s currently Pro Football Focus’ 53rd-ranked cornerback.
QB-TE (FD): Russell Wilson-Jimmy Graham
Oh, boy. Stacking against the No. 1 defense in the league is always intimidating, but you’re getting two high-upside players at fairly low ownership projected ownership. Tread carefully here, but make sure that you gain some exposure. Graham is a very intriguing play with 10 Pro Trends, a 95 percent Bargain Rating, and an opponent Plus/Minus of 3.0. All of these factors make him worth considering, despite the fact that Vegas is projecting this to be the third-lowest scoring game of the week.
Wilson has really killed some lineups for DFS players this year. I get that. The numerous injuries he and his receivers have suffered haven’t helped him out. After an abysmal start to the season, he’s scored 26 fantasy points in two straight games. Tyler Lockett appears to be at full strength and the run game will look to get going with the return of Thomas Rawls. Don’t go all-in with this stack but give it a long look in tournaments.
RB-D/ST (DK): Theo Riddick-Detroit D/ST
Riddick is currently the highest-rated DK RB on the Levitan Model. Despite that, he’s nowhere near the chalk, as Le’Veon Bell and C.J. Prosise take those honors. Rostering Riddick and the Lions D almost seems a bit counterintuitive, as he’s typically more valuable when the Lions trail and shift to a pass-happy offense. However, Riddick has been heavily involved regardless of the situation: He has at least 10 carries in each of his last six games played. The Lions currently have an implied Vegas total of 27 point — the fourth-highest total of the slate.
Riddick has a very good chance to score in this one, and although the Lions defense has struggled immensely it’s matchup with QB Blake Bortles could change that. Also, top defensive back Darius Slay is expected to return. The Lions D/ST has yet to score 10 fantasy points this season, so don’t go overboard with the exposure.
QB-RB-WR (FD): Andrew Luck-Frank Gore-T.Y Hilton
The Colts are in a divisional matchup with the Tennessee Titans, making this an intriguing group. The Luck-Hilton stack should be relatively chalky, but Gore’s FantasyLabs ownership projection is just two to four percent, so he should provide some differentiation.
The Titans defense is just not that good, ranking 27th in DVOA, which is a great sign for all of the players in this stack. Luck is our highest-rated QB despite being $8,100 on FD and having a subpar season.
Gore is having himself quite the season considering he’s one injury away from retirement. He’s currently averaging a 5.46 Plus/Minus and he remains a solid play at just $6,300. The Titans rush defense is a bit better than the secondary, but it’s still middle of the pack, and Gore racked up 16 FanDuel points against this same defense a few weeks ago.
As for Hilton, he moves around the formation but should see quite a bit of slot corner Brice McCain. On the outside, he’ll run some routes against Jason McCourty. Neither of those guys is better than average (per PFF). And Hilton also might run some routes against Perrish Cox, the latter of whom gets toasted more than white bread.
The Colts currently have a Vegas-implied team total of 27.75, so this stack is worth considering.
QB-RB-WR-WR (DK): Alex Smith-Spencer Ware-Tyreek Hill-Chris Conley
Well, if this isn’t the ultimate YOLO GPP stack, I’m not sure what is. You’re locking up your QB-RB-WR-WR spots for just 38 percent of your salary. This team would certainly fit Antonio Brown or any other stud you may desire. Smith has six total touchdowns through three home games versus three total TDs in five away games. Per our Trends tool, his Plus/Minus at home is better than on the road:
Smith is having himself a terrible season, as he has scored 20 fantasy points just once this year. With Tyreek Le Freak bursting onto the scene, Smith could have himself his second big game against an average TB secondary. Hill and Conley both have superb matchups this week. Hill is slated to run most of his routes against Jude Adjei-Barimah, who is an average cover corner at best. Conley is likely to match up a ton with Vernon Hargreaves III, who currently possesses the second-lowest PFF CB grade among all qualifiers. This stack has some serious upside.
Ware will be the KC workhorse once again, and he should be able to exploit this TB run defense, given his projection of 18.9 points. He also saw 64 percent of the snaps last week and that number could rise a bit if he starts out hot.
If you roll with the KC stack, you should be able to fit in the RB-WR stack of Le’Veon Bell-Antonio, if you want.
Good luck this week!
