Underdog Fantasy Best Ball QB Rankings, Top Values
Jayden Daniels, Commanders (ADP QB18, My Rank QB13)
Daniels has too much rushing upside (1,135 yards, 10 TDs last season at LSU) and too much passing upside (11.7 YPA, 40 TD, 4 INT) to let slide to QB18. New Commanders offensive coordinator Kliff Kingsbury oversaw a QB8 finish for Kyler Murray as a rookie in 2019, and with Daniels’ skill set, there’s no reason he can’t put up similar numbers to Murray as a rookie. Daniels has similar upside to Anthony Richardson, who goes seven rounds earlier.
Patrick Mahomes, Chiefs (ADP QB5, My Rank QB4)
If Marquise Brown pans out, Travis Kelce staves off major decline for one more year, and Rashee Rice doesn’t lose the majority of his season to suspension, then first-rounder Xavier Worthy and his 4.21 speed suddenly go from necessity to luxury, potentially vaulting Mahomes back to his pre-2023 levels of fantasy production.
Kyler Murray, Cardinals (ADP QB10, My Rank QB6)
How important is Marvin Harrison Jr. to Murray’s fantasy value? Look no further than Murray’s career splits with and without the only other true No. 1 wide receiver he’s had: DeAndre Hopkins. With Hopkins, Murray averages 7.7 yards per attempt with 1.71 TDs and 0.77 interceptions. Without Hopkins, Murray averages 6.6 YPA, 1.21 TDs, and 0.65 interceptions. This will also be Murray’s first true offseason in offensive coordinator Drew Petzing’s scheme since he spent last offseason recovering from an ACL tear. With Trey McBride having developed into one of the league’s best pass-catching TEs and Michael Wilson coming off a promising rookie campaign, the pieces are in place for Murray to put up a monster season.
Daniel Jones, Giants (ADP QB31, My Rank QB23)
Jones is a buy-low candidate coming off a disastrous season that culminated in a Week 9 ACL tear. Jones is still one of the handful of fantasy QBs who possess coveted rushing upside, and the addition of sixth overall pick Malik Nabers at WR gives him a shot at turning things around as a passer.
J.J. McCarthy, Vikings (ADP QB29, My Rank QB24)
Going to the Vikings via a trade-up was just about the best-case scenario for McCarthy on draft night. The Michigan alum will be throwing to Justin Jefferson, Jordan Addison, and (eventually) T.J. Hockenson. He’ll be dropping back behind an offensive line that is slated to return all five starters after earning a top-three pass-blocking grade from PFF.
Bryce Young, Panthers (ADP QB28, My Rank QB27)
Last year’s No.1 overall pick is rightfully priced down after having an all-time bad rookie campaign in which he failed to elevate his supporting cast, but he has a far better chance to live up to his draft pedigree in Year 2 after the Panthers added supreme route-runner Diontae Johnson in free agency and spent a first-round pick on South Carolina WR Xavier Legette, who ran a 4.39 forty at 6-foot-2, 221 pounds. The Panthers didn’t stop there, also selecting consensus top RB Jonathon Brooks and explosive pass-catching TE Ja’Tavion Sanders.
