Though Thursday will feature no basketball games, there will be two win-or-go-home NBA games on Friday. The Bulls will face the Heat for a chance to make the playoffs in the East, and the Kings will do the same with the Pelicans in the West.

Domantas Sabonis should thrive against the Pelicans as a scorer since they do not have any interior defense. Neither Jonas Valanciunas nor Larry Nance Jr. provide any resistance at the rim. Sabonis has put up 19.4 points per game this year. Without Williamson present, he will have the athleticism to dominate the Pelicans frontcourt.
Though the Pelicans tend to play small ball frequently, Jonas Valanciunas might get a few extra minutes here to keep with Sabonis’ rebounding. Valanciunas is averaging 8.8 rebounds in only 23.5 minutes per game. However, in five previous matchups against the Kings this year, Valanciunas averaged 26.7 minutes and 11.4 rebounds, so we could see him get over 9.5 rebounds here.
