Jonathan Kuminga has been the Warriors’ second offensive option in the starting lineup since becoming a full-time starter. The Knicks are still missing Julius Randle and OG Anunoby, who are the main players in the rotation with the athleticism and size to guard Kuminga. They are also without starting center Mitchell Robinson, meaning that they have less rim protection. I believe the matchup is favorable for Kuminga here, and the forward has notably averaged 18.2 points in his last 30 games.
Collin Sexton is another player that has benefited from an increased role this season. Sexton has averaged 21.3 points per game as a starter this season. He only put up 10 points against the Magic in their previous matchup, but that was largely due to a limited role. I expect the Jazz to continue to lean on the guard offensively, and we could see a good scoring night from Sexton here.
Stephen Curry is more of a scorer than a traditional point guard. Curry is only averaging 5.1 assists on the season. He has also put up more than 5.0 assists in only 6 of his last 10 games. With that being said, the Knicks have a depleted roster with a poor defense. That means scoring opportunities for the Warriors, and more assists for Curry as the primary ballhandler.
