OwnersBox is one of the unique DFS sites that still has traditional daily salary cap contests in addition to their Lightning Lineups contests.
In Lightning Lineups, the OwnersBox app will provide three sets of lineups for a given sport and slate, each lineup with three players. From there, users pick which lineup they think will score the most points. If you don’t like the options, you can spin for new lineups.
Spin. Pick. Win. OwnersBox innovative Lighting Lineups format is the most electric way to play daily fantasy sports.
Another reason to sign up with OwnersBox is their current Big Game Giveaway promotion. When you enter a lineup, you’ll earn “giveaway entries” for their Big Game drawing. What can you win? Two FRONT ROW tickets to Super Bowl LVIII + a VIP Fan Experience + Meet & Greets + Flights & Accommodations — over $40K in value!
Also, our OwnersBox promo code delivers new users a $500 sign-up offer. Their 100% deposit match up to $500 is by far the best among DFS sites.
Anyway, this article will focus on the more traditional salary cap DFS lineups that we’re all accustomed to. The best part about OwnersBox is their DFS product is a Superflex format with no defense.
I’ll be highlighting my favorite play at each position using our NFL projections inside our NFL Player Models.

NFL DFS Quarterback Pick
Lamar Jackson ($7,300) at Arizona Cardinals
With no teams on a bye week and no early international game, we get 26 teams in Sunday’s player pool on OwnersBox. Of the 26 projected starters, the quarterback with the top ceiling and median projection for Sunday is Lamar Jackson. Jackson and the Ravens are in a great matchup against the Cardinals, and he projects to bring the highest Pts/Sal across all positions this week, making him an option that has to be considered in the SuperFlex setup.
Jackson and the Ravens are coming off a great game last week against the Lions. In what was expected to be a good measuring stick game for both teams, the Ravens crushed Detroit 38-6. Jackson led the way with 357 passing yards and three touchdowns, and he also ran for a touchdown.
On the season, Jackson has thrown for eight touchdowns and run for five more. The running back spot has been a rotation since the injury to J.K. Dobbins, but that has only given Jackson more work to do, especially around the goal line. His running potential gives him an even higher ceiling in this matchup with Arizona.
The Cardinals have been beaten up by opposing QBs, especially over the last three weeks. They have given up an average of 260 passing yards per game and a total of 14 quarterback touchdowns in seven games. Partially due to the Cards’ defensive struggles, the Ravens have the fourth-highest implied team total on the slate.
Jackson’s dual-threat ability makes him stand out from the crowd once again this week, with the potential for a massive game on the road in the desert.
NFL DFS Running Back Pick
Alvin Kamara ($6,600) at Indianapolis Colts
Understandably, Christian McCaffrey is in a tier of his own from a salary perspective for Sunday. If you want to drop down a little and still get elite production, Alvin Kamara should be set up to deliver a big game against the Colts. Of all the running backs in play, Kamara trails only McCaffrey in ceiling, median, and floor projections, and he comes over $1,000 cheaper as the sixth-most expensive running back on this slate.
Kamara and the Saints are coming off some extra rest after playing last Thursday against the Jaguars. In that game, Kamara ran for 62 yards on 17 carries and added 91 receiving yards on 12 catches. Even though he didn’t find the end zone, it was still a huge night for him due to his work as a receiver.
Since returning from his suspension, Kamara has played an average of 73% of the Saints’ snaps. He has 18 red zone chances in those four weeks and already leads all running backs in targets despite missing the first three games of the season entirely. Even though he only has one touchdown, he has been an amazing play because he’s getting so much volume as both a rusher and receiver. He’s averaging 26 touches for 109.5 yards from scrimmage per game
The Colts have allowed the fifth-most fantasy points to opposing running backs this season after allowing three running back touchdowns last week against the Browns. They have allowed 10 touchdowns and an average of 126.86 scrimmage yards to opposing running backs this year, so Kamara should have opportunities to turn his volume into a big game.
NFL DFS Wide Receiver Pick
Ja’Marr Chase ($7,200) at San Francisco 49ers
The Bengals come off their bye week to face the 49ers in San Francisco in what will be a fascinating late-afternoon contest. Ja’Marr Chase started the season slow like the rest of this team, but he has found his groove lately and helped the Bengals get back to .500 at 3-3. In this matchup, Chase has the highest floor projection and the second-highest ceiling and median projections of all wide receivers. He is also tied for the second-highest Pts/Sal and is the only receiver with a salary of at least $5K that projects for over 2.5 Pts/Sal.
Chase had a massive three-touchdown game against the Cardinals in Week 5, catching 15-of-19 targets for 192 yards. The next week in Seattle, he again was heavily targeted by Joe Burrow and caught 6-of-13 passes for 80 yards. Chase hasn’t lacked for targets all year, with at least eight passes thrown his way in each contest. He’s averaging over 12 targets per game, and he definitely has proven he can make the most of those and go off for a monster game in the right situation.
The 49ers defense is a tough unit, but they have been beatable by opposing top receivers. Last week, Jordan Addison had 10 catches, 123 yards, and two touchdowns against them after Amari Cooper had eight catches for 108 yards the week before. Especially since this is a game that’s important for both teams in the postseason race and should have a playoff-like atmosphere, look for Burrow to pepper Chase with targets and Chase to turn them into points.
If you need a more affordable option, consider partnering rookie Zay Flowers with Lamar Jackson in a Ravens stack. If you need a punt play, Michael Gallup, Brandon Powell, and Demario Douglas all come under $4K but project as some of the best pure Pts/Sal plays of the day.
NFL DFS Tight End Pick
Travis Kelce ($7,100) at Denver Broncos
Even though Kelce is $1,500 more than any other tight end, he has been too good lately to discard just because of cost. Even with that elevated salary, he brings the highest projected Pts/Sal of all tight ends. In the SuperFlex format, it’s also important to compare him with other positions, and he would be tied for the second-highest projected Pts/Sal at both wide receiver and running back as well. Kelce would be the fifth-most expensive receiver, just behind Chase.
Last week, Kelce kept right on dominating. He hauled in 12-of-13 targets for 179 yards and a touchdown. It was his best catch and yardage total of the season and helped the Chiefs roll past the Chargers. Over his last three games, Kelce has converted 94% of his targets to catches (31-of-33) and averaged 123.3 yards per game.
This week Kelce gets a rematch against the Broncos in another division game. He just faced them two weeks ago and caught nine passes for 124 yards. The Broncos have given up the fifth-most fantasy points to opposing tight ends this season, letting them average 69.4 yards per game.
Kelce’s production is on a whole different level than the rest of the position. He leads the way at tight end in targets, target share, and red zone targets, even though he missed the first game of the season. In this rematch, Kelce demands consideration, given how reliable and productive he has been lately.
Mark Andrews came up huge for my OwnersBox picks last week, and the MANdrews is almost always a good way to stack around Jackson and the Ravens. If you need cheaper tight end options, the projections point to Evan Engram and Trey McBride outperforming their salaries this week.
