NFL Player Props: Nelson Agholor, Hunter Henry Picks for Patriots-Cardinals on Monday Night Football

The New England Patriots are fighting for their lives in the AFC Wild Card race, while the Arizona Cardinals are basically one loss away from calling it quits on the season. Both teams have lost two in a row, while Arizona has lost four of their past five. These two match up in the desert on Monday Night to cap off Week 14.

It was a tough Thursday Night, as the Raiders decided to stop throwing the ball to Davante Adams, and the Rams simply didn’t utilize Tyler Higbee. It was our first 0-2 night in a while, but it brings us to 29-28 on the year in player props.

Patriots-Cardinals NFL Player Prop Picks

Nelson Agholor Over 36.5 Receiving Yards

With Jakobi Meyers out of tonight’s matchup with a concussion, it gives the other Patriots’ pass catchers an opportunity to step up. Agholor has been the main benefactor when Meyers has been out of the lineup so far this season. With Meyers off the field, Agholor leads the receivers with an 18.3% target share. In the three games where Meyers has been limited or out, Agholor has 41, 46, and 65 receiving yards.

Agholor will likely be a staple of two and three wide receiver sets tonight, as he can play in the slot and out wide. Arizona plays a ton of zone coverage, and they’ve gotten shredded by opposing slot receivers. They’ve allowed the third-most fantasy points to opposing slot receivers in the past eight weeks, and Agholor is running about one-third of his routes from the slot.

The Cardinals will be missing slot cornerback Byron Murphy, so Agholor will likely line up against a combination of Isaiah Simmons and Antonio Hamilton when he’s in the slot. Agholor is set up for a solid night for a lot of reasons.

This number has risen slightly, but we’re still showing some value on the over.

Hunter Henry Over 29.5 Receiving Yards

Two overs in the New England pass-catching room. How could this go wrong? Hunter Henry gets a matchup with the worst defense at defending opposing tight ends. They’ve given up the most catches (83), yards (880), and touchdowns (9) to the position on the year.

With Meyers out for New England, it should benefit Henry, as one of the team’s top target-earners is now off the field. Henry has cleared this number in only four games this year, but the matchup is too good to pass up. Arizona has allowed an opposing tight end to top this number in ten of twelve games this year. Henry has five targets in back-to-back games, so hopefully, we can see the trend continuing of Mac Jones looking Henry’s way.

Henry is a talented pass-catcher, and his yardage prop is too low for such an elite matchup. Our Prop Tool has this number at 31.7, showing some value in the over.
