Bargain Rating Picks

You might be asking: what is Bargain Rating, and why should I care?

Bargain Rating shows how much of a bargain a player is on one DFS site versus others. If a player is significantly cheaper on one site than the other, they will have a favorable Bargain Rating on the site where they’re more affordable and a poor Bargain Rating on the site where they’re more expensive. It’s a straightforward metric, but targeting players at reduced price tags is almost always a strong strategy in DFS.

Bargain Rating strongly correlates with player value, which you can quickly see with our predictive projected Plus/Minus metric.

Seeing how Plus/Minus helps you project how many points a player is expected to score compared to what their salary implies them to score, this is a good company for Bargain Rating.

MLB DFS DraftKings Bargain

Michael Harris ($2,900): Outfielder, Atlanta Braves

Normally, we shy away from nine-hole hitters, but Harris has impressed lately with a +5.01 Plus/Minus over his last 10 games.

The rookie outfielder is batting .330 with a strong .385 wOBA after joining the team on May 28. At 21 years old, he could be the next star in Atlanta for years to come.

Harris faces the Dodgers Julio Urias tonight, who has pitched better than his 4-6 record shows. This is a high total game that fantasy owners will want to accumulate pieces for their lineup. Harris is one of the best bargain options for that purpose.

Harris has my attention as a one-off GPP play if I need the salary relief.

MLB DFS FanDuel Bargain

Bo Bichette ($3,100): Shortstop, Toronto Blue Jays

Bichette’s salary has dropped $800 since June 13 and is now in bargain territory. A boom-or-bust hitter, he has seven 15+ point games in June, including two against the White Sox in the last two nights.

The Blue Jays face right-hander, Adrian Houser of the Brewers, tonight. Houser is 4-7 with a 4.24 ERA in 13 starts.

For the price, he is worth the coin flip but be prepared that his downside is pretty far down if the coin doesn’t flip your way.

MLB DFS Ceiling Projection Picks

Pitcher

Alek Manoah ($9,500 DraftKings, $10,400 FanDuel) at Milwaukee Brewers

Manoah has the fifth-highest DraftKings salary on the slate but the highest projected ceiling. He leads the American League with eight wins on the year and has an impressive 2.00 ERA in 81 innings.

He gave up a season-high four earned runs in his last start on June 18, but it was against the Bronx Bombers. Over the season, he is amongst league leaders with a minuscule 4.7 BB% and .266 xwOBA.

Manoah has nine 20+ point DraftKings performances in his 13 starts this season. He is a solid option against a Brewers team in the bottom 20% of team batting average this year.

Hitter

Corey Seager ($5,200 DraftKings, $3,500 FanDuel) vs. Washington Nationals

Behind the high-salary Angels stars Mike Trout and Shohei Ohtani, Corey Seager stands out near the top of the ceiling projections tonight.

The basic stats say Seager is having a down year in his first campaign with the Rangers. He is batting just .235, over 50 points below his career average, but has some newfound power with 15 home runs in 2022. He hasn’t topped 20 dingers in a season since 2017.

His .396 xwOBA is in the top 9% of big-league hitters, according to Baseball Savant.

It’s been a while since we’ve seen a boom performance from Seager, but he had two 30-plus DraftKings point games in May and has posted five double-digit point totals in his last seven outings.

Top Stacking Pick from THE BAT X

One of the great features of being a FantasyLabs Pro member is the option to purchase additional items in the FantasyLabs Marketplace.

A new addition to our MLB projections is THE BAT from Derek Carty of RotoGrinders. With this purchase, you can use his projections alone or create aggregate projections within our Player Models.

The top five-man DraftKings stack from THE BAT using projected points in our stacking tool belongs to the Dodgers. When you load them into our Lineup Builder, you’ll have the option to hand-build the rest of your team or optimize the rest of it.

Note: There is precipitation projected in the forecast for this game. Be sure to monitor the status of this game leading up to lock.

The Dodgers head to Atlanta tonight for a weekend series with the Braves and have one of the higher implied run totals on the slate.

Trea Turner headlines the stack and has seen a $600 uptick in his salary over the last week. His ceiling may be a bit lower for a top-end price tag, but his consistency is what drives his price. Over the last seven games, he has five double-digit DraftKings performances.

Making his first return to Atlanta in a Dodger uniform, Freddie Freeman is on a hot streak at the plate. He destroyed the Reds in their mid-week series with seven hits, two home runs, and 10 RBI in the three-game set. He will have extra motivation tonight.

The highest-priced catcher on the slate, Will Smith, also had two long bombs against the Reds this week and has four-straight double-digit DraftKings point games. He has a +1.80 Plus/Minus rating over his last 10 games.

Max Muncy and Chris Taylor round out the stack tonight in this potent Dodgers lineup. Muncy has struggled the entire season with a .170 average but did have a 22-point breakout last night with a home run. The veteran Taylor has not impressed as of late, but with so much firepower in the lineup, he is a nice cheaper option to benefit from increased RBI opportunity.

The Dodgers face Braves right-hander Ian Anderson tonight. The 24-year-old is 6-3 with a 4.35 ERA in 13 starts.
