NFL DFS Thanksgiving Picks: Bears vs. Lions Showdown Breakdown

  • The Chicago Bears vs. Detroit Lions game will be underway at 12:30 p.m. ET on Thanksgiving.
  • What's the best way to approach roster construction with these poor offenses?
  • Billy Ward breaks down every relevant DFS option using the FantasyLabs Tools and Player Models.

The “action” (in a manner of speaking) kicks off at 12:30 p.m. eastern on Thanksgiving, as the Lions host the Bears at Ford Field.

In this article, I’ll be using various FantasyLabs tools and other industry metrics to break down the slate.

And don’t forget to check out our Lineup Builder if you like to hand build your lineups or our Lineup Optimizer for those of you that like to enter multiple lineups into tournaments.

Studs

Given the anemic offenses sported by both teams, “studs” is a bit of a misnomer. Either way, we’ll look at the higher-priced players on the slate in this one.

D’Andre Swift is the highest-priced player (at $11,600) on DraftKings and trails only Andy Dalton with his $14,500 price on FanDuel. Swift has been electric for the Lions as of late, with back-to-back 130 yard games on the ground. Backup Jamaal Williams has been hurt, and the Lions are essentially giving up on throwing the ball, so Swift is the lone bright spot for the offense. Expect his carries to fall somewhere between the 33 he handled in Week 10 and the 14 he handled last week. The Lions ran only 46 plays against the Browns, down from their average of 63, as they struggled to sustain drives against the Browns pass rush.

Swift is also tied for the team lead in targets in that stretch. This isn’t just noise either. Head coach Dan Campbell took over play-calling duties before Week 10’s contest. He clearly believes in having a workhorse back.
