Tuesday features an 11-game NBA DFS slate starting at 7 p.m. ET.
Point Guard
Stud
Steph Curry has a tough matchup today vs. the Suns, but he still stands out as one of the top studs on the slate. He has increased his fantasy production to 1.63 DraftKings points per minute over the past month and continues to benefit from the absence of Kelly Oubre. Curry has increased his usage rate by 5.9% in 13 games without Oubre this season, resulting in an average of 57.88 DraftKings points per game. You’ll definitely take that level of production at $10,000 on DraftKings, where he leads the point guard position with nine Pro Trends.
Value
Malachi Flynn hasn’t seen quite as many opportunities for the Raptors recently, but he should be thrust back into a starring role on Tuesday. Toronto has already ruled out Kyle Lowry, Fred VanVleet, Pascal Siakam, and OG Anunoby. Additionally, Chris Boucher is listed as questionable. Flynn has played two games with Lowry, VanVleet, and Siakam out of the lineup this season, and Flynn has averaged 35.38 DraftKings points in those two contests. Flynn offers elite value across the industry on Tuesday, but his $5,000 salary on FanDuel is particularly exploitable.
Fast Break
Cole Anthony stands out as one of the best pure values at the position on FanDuel. He is priced at just $5,200, resulting in a Bargain Rating of 88%. He has also increased his production to 0.99 FanDuel points per minute over the past month and is projected for 29.5 minutes in our NBA Models.
The 76ers will be an important team to monitor on Tuesday. Joel Embiid is currently listed as questionable, and his absence would open up plenty of value with the rest of Philadelphia’s roster. Ben Simmons has been removed from the injury report, so he should be in the lineup vs. the Pacers. It’s an elite matchup, and the 76ers’ implied team total of 120.0 points ranks second on the slate.
Shooting Guard
Stud
Terry Rozier continues to provide some of the best value at the shooting guard position on FanDuel. He has posted an average Plus/Minus of +4.73 over his past 10 contests, and his $7,300 salary comes with a Bargain Rating of 85%. Rozier should continue to carry a huge workload for the shorthanded Hornets — especially if Devonte’ Graham is ruled out for the fifth straight game. Rozier leads all shooting guards with 11 Pro Trends on Tuesday’s slate.
Value
Gary Trent Jr. is another member of the Raptors who should command a huge workload on Tuesday. He has increased his production to 0.86 FanDuel points per minute over the past month, and his $4,900 salary comes with a Bargain Rating of 87%. Trent Jr. has scored at least 28.7 FanDuel points in each of his past two games, so the fact that his salary decreased from $5,000 to $4,900 makes absolutely no sense.
Fast Break
The Celtics play the Heat on Tuesday, and this game carries massive implications for the NBA Playoffs. Miami holds a two-game lead over the Celtics for the No. 6 seed in the Eastern Conference, and only the top-six seeds are guaranteed spots in the postseason. In other words, the Celtics need to win the game to have any shot of avoiding the play-in tournament.
Unfortunately, the Celtics will not be at full strength against Miami. Robert Williams has been ruled out with a toe injury, and Jaylen Brown is done for the year following wrist surgery. Evan Fournier stands out among the Celtics players who must now pick up the slack. Fournier has done an admirable job of that recently, scoring at least 33.5 DraftKings points in each of his past four games. He remains affordable at just $5,400.
Terence Davis is another strong mid-range option on Tuesday. The Kings have been hit hard by injuries lately: De’Aaron Fox, Tyrese Haliburton, and Harrison Barnes are all expected to miss tonight’s contest vs. Oklahoma City. That leaves plenty of playing time available for Davis, who has averaged 0.96 DraftKings points per minute over the past month. Davis has posted a positive Plus/Minus in each of his past nine games, and he has scored at least 35.75 DraftKings points in back-to-back games.
Small Forward
Stud
Luka Doncic has struggled from a fantasy perspective recently, but there have been some extenuating circumstances. He has played 23.2 or fewer minutes in each of his past two games, and not even Doncic is capable of paying off his salary in such limited playing time. He should return to his usual workload tonight vs. the Grizzlies, and he carries more upside than usual given the Mavericks’ injury situation. Kristaps Porzingis has already been ruled out, and Maxi Kleber is questionable.
Value
Joe Harris is an interesting buy-low candidate for the Nets. His FanDuel salary has decreased by $1,100 over the past month. Now, his $3,900 price tag generates a Bargain Rating of 87%. Harris is projected for 33.5 minutes in our NBA Models, which is a lot of minutes for a player who costs less than $4,000. Historically, players with comparable salaries and minutes projections have averaged a Plus/Minus of +4.61 (per the Trends tool).
Fast Break
Lu Dort is questionable for the Thunder, but he deserves consideration on FanDuel if he’s able to suit up. He has increased his production to 0.97 FanDuel points per minute over the past month while leading Oklahoma City in usage when he’s been in the lineup. Dort can do a lot of damage if he is active against Sacramento — a team that ranks dead-last in Defensive Efficiency.
On the other side of that matchup, Moe Harkless has provided excellent value for the Kings recently. He has posted a positive Plus/Minus in four straight games, and he has scored at least 29.25 DraftKings points in each of his past two. Harkless is projected for 31.6 minutes in our NBA Models, and his $4,000 salary on DraftKings comes with a Bargain Rating of 95%.
Power Forward
Stud
Domantas Sabonis is more expensive than he has ever been, so there is admittedly a bit of sticker shock with him at the moment. His uncharacteristically high fantasy salary notwithstanding, it’s impossible to ignore his upside if Malcolm Brogdon is out of the lineup again. Sabonis has scored at least 72.5 DraftKings points in four of his past six games, so he clearly has the ability to pay off this elevated price tag. He is capable of contributing in every category across the board, resulting in an average of 1.57 DraftKings points per minute over the past month.
Value
It remains to be seen if Jaren Jackson Jr. will be in the lineup on the second leg of a back-to-back, but he is a strong option if he’s active. Jackson Jr. has been tremendous since joining the lineup, averaging 1.22 DraftKings points per minute. He has also scored at least 31.25 DraftKings points in each of his past three games. Jackson Jr. is coming off a season-high 27 minutes yesterday vs. the Pelicans, so his playing time is trending in the right direction, as well.
If Jackson Jr. is ruled out, then players like Kyle Anderson and Brandon Clarke would enter the discussion as value options.
Fast Break
Chimezie Metu is another potential value option for the Kings. He isn’t expected to see as many minutes as Harkless, but he is typically more productive when he’s on the court. Metu has averaged 0.93 DraftKings points per minute over the past month, so he doesn’t need a ton of playing time to pay off his $3,400 salary.
The Pistons have ruled out most of their veterans again on Tuesday, so Isaiah Stewart should remain in the starting lineup. He has played 10 games without Jerami Grant and Mason Plumlee in the lineup and has averaged 32.18 FanDuel points in those contests. That makes him a strong option at $6,200.
Center
Stud
If Joel Embiid is in the 76ers lineup, then he is going to crush the Pacers on Tuesday. It’s that simple. Indiana has struggled against opposing centers all season, giving Embiid an Opponent Plus/Minus of +3.95 on FanDuel. That’s the top mark at the position. Embiid has also been on a tear recently, averaging 1.61 FanDuel points per minute over the past month, and the Pacers’ frontcourt remains undermanned with Myles Turner sidelined. Make sure to utilize the Labs Insiders tool for any updates on Embiid’s status.
Value
Tristan Thompson isn’t the sexiest DFS option, but he is likely to return value vs. the Heat. Thompson is the last big man left standing in Boston, and he is projected for 31 minutes in our NBA Models. He has averaged 0.90 DraftKings points per minute this season, so he is a very reasonable option at $4,600.
Fast Break
If Embiid is ruled out, pivoting to Karl-Anthony Towns makes a lot of sense on FanDuel. Towns is priced at just $9,500, resulting in a Bargain Rating of 84%, and he also draws an elite matchup. His matchup vs. the Pistons results in an Opponent Plus/Minus of +3.25, and the Timberwolves’ implied team total of 117.75 ranks fourth on the slate.
Willie Cauley-Stein looks like the best punt play at the position on DraftKings. He would only have viability if Kleber is ultimately ruled out, but Cauley-Stein has posted a positive Plus/Minus in each of his past three games. He is projected for 21.0 minutes in our NBA Models and has averaged a Plus/Minus of +3.21 with a comparable minutes projection this season.
