Matthew Freedman publishes comprehensive positional breakdowns for the main NFL DFS slate throughout each week.
We’ll highlight one of the top players from each position (according to our Models) and his analysis of their outlooks below, but be sure to check out the full versions of each breakdown for the best cash-game and GPP plays for Week 4.
QB Breakdown
Lamar Jackson: Baltimore Ravens (-7) vs. Cleveland Browns, 46 Over/Under
Even when Jackson doesn’t look good, he’s still good enough. In Week 3, Jackson struggled mightily on the road against the Chiefs, completing just 51.2% of his attempts for a scoreless 267 yards. But he saved his day with an 8-46-1 rushing line, and his touchdown was one of the best plays of the season.
Even at his worst, in a performance that had Twitter questioning his development as a quarterback, Jackson still put up 21.3 FanDuel points.
That’s the power of the Konami Code. Because of his dual-threat rushing ability, Jackson has an incredibly high floor each week.

RB Breakdown
David Johnson: Arizona Cardinals (+5) vs. Seattle Seahawks, 48 Over/Under
Johnson has underwhelmed this season: He’s still in the top 10 at the position with his 15.4 FanDuel points per game, but he just can’t seem to get going.
- Week 1 (vs. Lions): 22.7 FanDuel points, 18-82-0 rushing, 6-55-1 receiving on seven targets
- Week 2 (at Ravens): 7.9 FanDuel points, 7-14-1 rushing, 1-0-0 receiving on one target
- Week 3 (vs. Panthers): 15.5 FanDuel points, 11-37-0 rushing, 6-28-1 receiving on nine targets
His 137-yard, one-touchdown performance in Week 1 was nice to see, but it was aided by a 10-minute overtime, and he’s done little since, averaging just 79 yards in Weeks 2-3 on 28 opportunities.
I don’t want to diminish Johnson’s scoring prowess, because he seems to have an innate will for finding the end zone, but if not for his two touchdowns over the past two weeks, he would have been a disaster.
The truth is that the 2016 All-Pro compiler who had an NFL-high 373 touches, 2,118 yards and 20 touchdowns — that guy’s not coming back.

WR Breakdown
Keenan Allen: Los Angeles Chargers (-15.5) vs. Miami Dolphins, 44 Over/Under
I just need to take an “L” on Keenan and move on. I’ve been a longtime Allen skeptic, but his start to the season has been dominant.
- Week 1 (vs. Colts): 22.3 FanDuel points, 8-123-1 receiving on 10 targets
- Week 2 (at Lions): 13.8 FanDuel points, 8-98-0 receiving on 15 targets
- Week 3 (vs. Texans): 37.1 FanDuel points, 13-183-2 receiving on 17 targets, 1-3-0 rushing
Allen is the No. 1 fantasy receiver on the year with 31.2 DraftKings and 24.4 FanDuel points per game. He’s also No. 1 at the position with 42 targets, 29 receptions, 404 yards receiving and 495 air yards. Keenan is #krushing.

TE Breakdown
Travis Kelce: Kansas City Chiefs (-6.5) at Detroit Lions, 55 Over/Under
Kelce had a historic fantasy season for a tight end in 2018. Not surprising. And his 2019 season has gone pretty well so far.
- Week 1 (at Jaguars): 10.3 FanDuel points, 3-88-0 receiving on eight targets
- Week 2 (at Raiders): 20.2 FanDuel points, 7-107-1 receiving on nine targets
- Week 3 (vs. Ravens): 12.4 FanDuel points, 7-89-0 receiving on eight targets
He’s No. 3 at the position with 14.3 FanDuel points per game and No. 1 with 363 air yards and yards after the catch combined.
And yet it’s undeniable that Kelce’s start to the campaign has been a smidgen disappointing.
