Rob Gronkowski, Patriots
The tight end position is ugly for the Super Bowl.
Gronk averaged only 5.5 targets per game this season and saw only 16% of the Patriots’ market share of targets. He has nine single-digit fantasy outing this season (including playoffs) and has averaged a -4.93 DraftKings Plus/Minus with a putrid 18% Consistency Rating.
Gronk’s usage in the red zone has also been sparse, seeing just eight targets from the inside the 20. Even in the playoffs, Gronk has yet to see a red-zone target. Luckily, for the Showdown slate, you’re not forced to roster a tight end.
Gerald Everett & Tyler Higbee, Rams
Given that Everett and Higbee make up just 9% and 7% of the Rams’ respective target share, they make for a tough sell in DFS. Their target shares combined still trail Robert Woods (23%), Brandin Cooks (22%) and is tied with Todd Gurley.
